What are the requirements for bringing a cat into Thailand via the sandbox program?
Has anyone brought a cat into Thailand recently or specifically Phuket via sandbox ? I can hand the cat over on arrival to someone so it doesn't have to come to the hotel .... Any info on what is needed or how to go about it much appreciated
Answer summary
Bringing a cat to Thailand via the sandbox program requires careful planning. An official veterinary health certificate is necessary, along with proof of vaccinations for rabies and leptospirosis. Additionally, you may need to obtain an import permit upon entry. It is suggested to consult groups like the Bangkok Pet Lovers group for recent experiences and advice from those who have successfully brought pets into Thailand.

An official veterinary health certificate is required for dogs and cats. You must be vaccinated against rabies and leptospirosis. Upon entry, a fee-based import permit will be issued after viewing the health certificate.
