TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling to Thailand with your dog in January is allowed with appropriate documentation. Notably, dogs typically do not have to undergo quarantine, unlike travelers. It's advised to confirm requirements with your local Thai consulate and consult specific guidelines from credible resources regarding pet travel regulations. Additionally, past discussions have recommended services like relo4paws for assistance.

he said only for 3 months stay. It sounds like he wants to bring in and take back to UK. So if true, "In" is not the issue, returning to UK is.

Just ironical. Several people complain because they need to be vaxed to be allowed to travel, claiming about their freedom. Does anybody worry about the pets freedom?

not sure what you're on about. Dogs being vaccinated against rabies protects both the dog and people/animals in the country they travel to. Absolutely the right thing to do. I wouldn't want my dog to be "free" to get sick/die/endanger others.

tourists being vaccinated against COVID 19 protects both the tourist and the population in the country they travel to.

Ive got a thai rescue dog here in uk. It's not enough to have a pet passport. Thailand is in a different category.

if you don't know the rules to bring your dog back to UK its important you check this out. Import to uk requires rabies titer testing. Its too long a process for me to write up here. You'd be best to contact one of the pet import companies like James Cargo who have pet reception centre at Heathrow. They'll send you the details if bringing a dog back in from Thailand. Or contact a Thai based pet shipping company who handle the travel documents for bringing pets into UK.

Getting to Thailand might be easy, coming back less so. Not impossible but takes over 3 months to do the process.

there's a huge amount of paperwork to be done to return the dog to UK. You need to speak to a pet import company for process and cost. Allow 4 months for this, because of the titer testing rules. So if you are only there 3 months the dog will not be returning same time as you. Dynamic Cargo pet movers, Relo4Paws are 2 companies can advise and quote. My thai dog cost me about £1300 to fly in plus 4 months of process, and that was 5 years ago.

As far as remember, Titer blood serum test needs negative result from an authorised lab and dog can fly to UK 3 months after date blood was taken.

are you aware of the titer test requirements to return dog to UK? The fee at airport to land a dog after you fly it in is probably £350+ on top of flight cost. Unless you land in Europe and transfer in via land/sea.
