What are the requirements for employment contracts for the DTV visa in Thailand?

Hello all, have a couple questions on the DTV if you could indulge me please?

1. Do you know if the employment agreement/contract needs to have a term the length of the visa?

2. How do Americans who work remotely provide an employment agreement/contract? All we get are offer letters generally.

Thanks in advance for your input.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the need for an employment agreement's duration to match the DTV visa length and how remote workers, particularly Americans, can provide necessary contracts. Comments suggest that contracts typically do not need an expiration date if they are not limited and recommend using an employment verification letter for remote positions.

I had HR draft an employment verification letter with my job title, salary, length of employment, and ability to work remote

You will have a contact. Unless it’s a limited time contract, it won’t have an expiration date.

I would assume all contracts are accepted without an expiration date.

if an offer letter is countersigned by both parties, is this not a defacto contract?

most states are at will employment states (I live in one of those states), we get offer letters which are signed by both parties not contracts.
