Following up on my previous post regarding DTV visa application- I am on week 4 of waiting.

They have responded and asked to provide proof of funds once again, as cert. of deposit or bank statement for the past 3 months. I've supplied them twice with brokerage statements , which show the required amount for the required period of time.

Has anyone else showed brokerage statements? Were they accepted?

Do I maybe need to provide a letter from the brokerage confirming I have liquid assets?

Also, if anyone is self-employed and had to provide an employment contract: did you specifically state that all of the work is remote?

I've submitted a certificate of employment (for my own company) and they require me to re-submit with statement of remote work.

I want to make sure I do it correctly this time, would be super helpful to hear from someone who is in the same position and had been accepted.

Thank you kindly!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently facing delays in their DTV visa application, having been asked to submit proof of funds again. They previously provided brokerage statements but are questioning their acceptance. They also need to clarify remote work documentation requirements for self-employment. Community members have shared their insights, predominantly advising on the necessity of bank statements over brokerage statements and the importance of a formal letter confirming remote work status.

Does anyone know if an IRA is an acceptable form of proof of funds?

it's possible, I presented my funds in a TFSA.

They just needed bank statements on top of that to show the monthly income coming in.

And an explanation that you have access to the funds if necessary. But I'd still contact the embassy to double check prior to applying!

I think you need more than a letter from yourself. I think proof of portfolio, tax return or company registration certificate within your country. I read in previous post no brokerage accounts

Looks to be the Thai embassy in Moscow. Is it political? Thailand should not be pressured to take sides between nato and Russia.

I don't think brokerage statements are acceptable, they want to see money in the bank. As to remote work a letter on company stationary saying you are allowed to work remotely may be what they are looking for.
