Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone can share an example of the employment certificate or letter of employment they used for DTV.

I have been employed for many years with my employer.

Remote worker

To cover this off no dramas

Requested documents may include the following: employment certificate or contract indicating that the applicant can work full-time remotely (not required to be physically present in a fixed workplace), portfolio showing the applicant's works, digital assets or social media accounts and business registration showing the applicant as an executive of the company.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion outlines the requirements for an employment letter needed for Thailand's Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). Key points include the necessity of stating 'Full-time Remote Worker' on the letter, indicating the applicant's name, job title, and employment status. Examples from users suggest that the letter should be on corporate letterhead, include a corporate stamp, and be signed by HR or a director. Several participants shared their experiences with the application process, noting the importance of providing definitive proof of remote work arrangements to avoid complications during the visa approval stage.

Does anyone know if they will actually contact your employer to check? (Applying for DTV in the Netherlands)

Being to close to other applicants provided documentation may backfire on the copycat.

Hi, I originally sent my employment contract but it was missing the information about "full time remote work" so the thaievisa application requested for a company letter

HR advised that I could get my boss to just write an email however when I submitted that, thaievisa came back saying it needed to be a letter with a chop stating "Full time, Remote work"

what I did was created the template and sent it to my company, they vetted the wording, put it on a company letterhead

afterwards we uploaded the letter via Docusign where my manager could put an e-signature and HR could put a stamp chop

all of those were done digitally since everyone I work with are in different locations

if you google "letter from employee on remote work full time" you'll see some samples

if you want help with writing out the letter, start with some recommendations from chatgpt on the letter format and then change it around to what makes sense for you

thank you. Did they actually call your employer to check? Or is letter enough?

thank you! This helps a lot.

yeah that’s pretty much what I had, I’d just state there the word “Full time”

I know that portion “they do not require to attend the office” seems pretty clear

but on their comments to me it said stating “Full Time Remote worker”

I suppose technically the latter doesn’t leave room for interpretation, whereas the one above could still technically suggest otherwise

I also input in the signature the name and title of the person who wrote the letter

including their location

For example:

INSERT SIGNATURE

Sam Smith, Managing Director

Company name, country

No worries, btw I also applied in Hk through Thai evisa, I noticed you mentioned that’s where you were applying

I found they were quite strict about showing proof of full time remote work portion

basically they just want all the information you claim, to be vetted with official documentation

How many days did your visa take to be approved

And did you provide payslips to? Or just the letter with correct information remote worker etc

@Toni *******
i submitted the application on the website and after 3 days I received request for other documents

1. Employment contract

2. the letter stating remote work

I replied on the same day sending them

1. employment contract (the signed version)

2. email from my manager (as recommended by HR)

response was another 3 days stating they needed an official letter, now stating I could “work remotely, full time”

submitted the official letter, and received the approval in 2 days

they’ll attach the visa on the approval email

so roughly 8 working days/1.5 weeks

I didn’t provide payslips, but as I mentioned they requested my employment contract

I followed a sample from the internet. It should bear a corporate letterhead, your name, passport number, title/role and stating "Remote Worker/ Freelancer", corporate stamp and signed by HR or director. (Disclaimer: This worked for me in Jakarta, I can't guarantee for other Embassies.)

mind if I message you a question about this?
