What documents do I need for a marriage-based Non-O visa extension in Thailand and how should I prepare them?

Hello everyone.

I am planning to get my first one-year marriage-based Non-O visa extension soon.

I live in Bangkok and I know I need to do it at the Chaeng Wattana immigration office.

I have a few questions, and I would greatly appreciate your help.

1. Regarding the necessary documents from the bank proving that I have a deposit of 400,000 baht in the account for the previous two months, what exactly are these documents and how many are there?

The list of required documents says:

- Letter from the bank certified the account in the bank of not less than 400,000 baht

- A copy of the bank passbook dated as of the application submission date, showing a balance of no less than 400,000 baht.

Can I go to any branch of my bank in Bangkok and ask for this letter? Do I perhaps need to request a separate account statement for the last two months (or more months)?

2. Another thing that interests me is this:

- Copy of House lease agreement (I have this of course), Identification and household registration of the owner.

Since I have copies of these last two documents, signed by the owner of the apartment where I live, is that sufficient because I don't have the original documents with me and the owner does not live in Bangkok?

3. The next thing I'm interested in are these 4 photos that are needed (two in front of the building and two inside the apartment).

What kind of photos are they?

Can I take a picture with my phone and then print it somewhere on photo paper?

4. And the last thing is this:

- Map of an applicant house in Thailand.

What kind of map is that, a printed google map of the area where the building I live is located?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on the specific documentation required for a one-year marriage-based Non-O visa extension at the Chaeng Wattana immigration office in Bangkok. Key inquiries include the required bank documentation to prove a deposit of 400,000 baht, the sufficiency of copies of a lease agreement and the owner's identification, details on the required photographs, and the type of map needed for the application. Responses provide clarity on each document's requirements and suggest practices such as photographing with clear details, and preparing specific bank documents.

Make sure the outside house pic shows the house number that is on your application. Phone pics are fine but not hand held selfies. I print mine on A4 paper, two per sheet. A Google map is acceptable where I apply in Hua Hin. The bank will know what to give you. Do a 100 baht transaction on the day so your bank book has stamp from that day.

Thank you very much for your reply, it is very useful!

One more thing, since I don't live in my own house, but rent an apartment in a building, is it enough to bring the contract, a signed copy of the apartment owner's identity card and her signed copy of the household registration (blue book)?

Can't help you on that one I'm afraid. In my case, in Hua Hin, there is a 'check desk' before you actually go into the Immigration waiting room. The people there will go through your documents and tell you what is missing. A kind of dummy run, so to speak. Saves a long wait in the queue just to find out you have missed something. Maybe your local immigration has this?

The photos must not be selfies, all must show you and your wife. 1 in kitchen, 1 in bedroom, 1 outside showing house number and 1 other. Print 2 per a4 page satisfies the requirement. For the map i generally do a google map print on top half of a4 from CW to my home, and a hand drawn on the bottom half from the nearest major SOI to my house. You need both a letter and bank statement (i always get 3 months) from the bank not older than 7 days. Copies of each page of your bank book, make sure you have over 400k in the bank. On the day you need to withdraw 100bht or so, (ensuring your still over 400k), update the bank book, get the last page copied and replace any you might have done in preperation. Note i usually do 6 photos in case they reject any.

sorry i cant give a definitive answer on that as we live in a house we own. But that sounds adequate.include a tm30 and tm7 receipt to show your tied to the apartment.

Photos of you and your wife outside and inside your home together don't use the same ones as last year, as for the map it has to be a hand drawing

Thanks for the reply, but as I wrote, this is my first extension and I don't have any pictures from last year.

I would also like a little more detailed explanations for my questions from someone with experience.
