Hi, I'm looking for a little help.

I arrived on November 2nd and I'm on my last 10 days of my non o visa and need to extend this for a year based on marriage. I know of having to have 400k in my bank account, copy of marriage certificate, wifes ID, my passport and photos of myself and my wife at our rented property. Can someone please let me know of the other documents I will need?

Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your Non-O visa based on marriage, you will need several documents. Besides 400,000 THB in your bank account, a copy of your marriage certificate, your wife's ID, your passport, and photos with your wife at your rented property, you will also need a copy of your rental agreement that includes the property name, the house book with the owner's name, and a copy of the owner's Thai ID card. As some documents can take time to obtain, it is advisable to start gathering them promptly. It's also recommended to have multiple recent photos together at the property, showing both of you and important details. Keeping copies of all submitted documents will simplify future applications.

Stuart's post covers it, but, be aware of the required documents where you rent, as they can take longer to get than the days you have left, but might be quick if the owner has other foreigners in the same situation. You need your lease with the property name on it. Many use a generic lease that doesn't have the name of the property you rent on it. You also need a copy of the house book the actual owner of the property is listed in, and a copy of his/her Thai ID card. These three documents can take weeks to get in some cases. When I first applied for my type O extension based on marriage it took over a month to get these required rental documents. Just be aware of this, and start getting them right away. The other thing that could take time is if your wife's parents don't live close, as she would be listed in their house book, and it could take time for them to get a copy made, and sent to you, as it is also required with her ID card copy. Also, to make this all easier in the future keep copies of everything, as in the next time for your extension all you need is brand new pictures, and new bank letters. The rest is all the same, so keep copies of everything. You'll need at least three pictures, and preferably four. One outside the whole property showing the property number, if it show one. A photo of the entrance to your building, then a picture in front of your apartment that plainly shows the room number, then one or preferably two pictures inside your apartment. All these pictures must also show both of you together in them. Then your passport photo for the application. All these photos must be new every year, as they are scanned and entered into your computer data, and they do compare them with previous year photos. That is why they all must be new every year. Once you do it all the first time it is pretty easy every year after.

These are the requirements for the Phuket office. Your local office may be slightly different, but at least you’ll get an idea.
