Hello all. I have a non-o visa based in marriage and would like to get a year extension of stay. My wife thinks I need to get the owner of the condo I stay in to sign some paperwork stating that I live in her place. I have the 400,000thb in my bank already (it's been there for about 4 months). The condo is on the samutprakarn side of bearing rd. Any advice on getting the extension would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance :-)

Thanks for your reply. I moved from my wife's family house in samut prakan to a condo. Last time I went to the immigration office they asked for loads of documents, including a power of attorney form. I don't know whether it was because I was staying with my wife's family or not. Do you think there is an easier way to get the address registered? It seems like a load of hassle to ask the owner of my condo to do all of this, I don't even know if she would be willing to supply me with all of the paperwork.

, nope.

They told you wrong, you get your extension from the immigration office that services the area where you live.

I'd have your wife talk to who ever owns your condo and see if they'll play ball and give you the paperwork you need to do it or not. If not go to the immigration office and see what you should do.

samut prakan is one of the immigration offices that ARE enforcing the TM.30 form and they are fining foreigners for their land lords not having filed one within 24 hours of you taking up residence.

I'd say go on over to the immigration office in Samut Prakan and see what they want as far as documentation for your extension based on marriage and ask about the TM.30 form to.
