Hi all,

I will be applying for a 12 month extension of my non-o (marriage) Visa next Monday and wanted to see if anyone had a checklist of documents to take.

Chaengwattana Office

I've looked online but found last time following the online info I was still short of a few documents.

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 12-month extension of your Non-O (marriage) Visa at the Chaengwattana Immigration Office, it's crucial to bring specific documents. Key documents include: 1. Updated bank book (updated on the day of application) 2. Bank letter (dated within the last 7 days) 3. TM30 receipt 4. Lease agreement 5. 90-day report receipt 6. Recent photographs with your spouse 7. Marriage certificate and Kor Ror 2 (a document confirming marital status from the local Amphur) 8. Appropriate passport copies 9. Completed TM7 extension form 10. Application fee (1900 baht) Each immigration office may have varying requirements, so it's beneficial to inquire directly at Chaengwattana to clarify any additional documents you might need.

Each office has different rules and regulations.

Ok people, a reminder: The op is using Chaengwattana [Bangkok], not other immigration offices.

Also need bank book updated on day you apply this can be done at ATM bank book update doesn't have to match bank letter.

Your passport copies have to be done the right way too I got sent away to have them copied correctly

@K**
always portrait oriented copies NOT landscape ;) That's how their file system is set up :P

The bank letter can be up to 7 days old, the bank book needs updating the day you apply, and as long as the bank balance is over 400k it doesn't need to match the bank letter at all

@Tod ********
that's what I said

Copy 12 months bank records that's what they wanted off me since the new rules about 2 months after last application and 2 months before this one.

Need Kor Ror form from local Amphur to say your still married take wife with you to get this and to immigration

Unless you're using monthly income method to meet the requirements by marriage (transferring in to the country 40K baht a month each month every month) they shouldn't be asking for a year transaction history on marriage extensions. :/

I used 400k in bank has to be left in bank 2 months before and after application they want proof just did mine

@Ken *******
, just so you're clear how it really is

the 400K baht banked money has to be seasoned for 2 months before you apply

AND some offices (like Chaengwattana) ask you to keep the money in the account for the "under consideration" period <- meaning you update your bank book when you go back to get the extension inked in.

@Ken *******
don’t have to leave it for three months and it’s two months in the bank for subsequent years. Varies from office to office.

hit wrong button meant to be 2

@Nicholas ********
it's 2 months always no matter whether this is your first or fiftieth yearly extension based on marriage.

There is no variable (2 months first year/3 months every year after that) seasoning any more <- and that was ONLY for retirement extensions anyway ;)
Tod *********
@Ken *******
that is for a retirement extension isn't it?
Tod *********
I'd say go out there with your thai wife in tow before you need to go get the extension and get the hand out and ask them if there's anything NOT on the list.

Off the top of my head;

bank letter (dated within 7 days)

updated bank book (updated the date you go to apply)

Tm30 receipt,

lease,

90 day report receipt,

photos of you and your wife,

hand drawn map of your neighborhood,

marriage documents, (Kor Ror 2 within the last year)

appropriate copies of your passport pages,

TM7 extension form,

1900baht

excellent. This all sounds great. Thanks for help

The main thing we're seeing IS people who were not married recently (like in the last year) are being asked to have an updated Kor Ror 2 <- the document that ANY amphur can print showing you are still married and when you got married in thailand. It cost 20 baht to print.

yes I read this recently. I will be going tomorrow to obtain an updated copy. Cheers again mate

make sure the Amphur date and sign the Kor Ror 2. Previous occasions I've had to hand it back to them, to date it.

I doubt you're getting a new visa. You're getting a new one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national.

What immigration office? Each office have their own requirements.
