Hello, I'm pretty sure this info is somewhere in the posts on the group but the search function seems quite unhelpful. If there is a recent post with this info, please kindly refer me to it :)

My first 1-Year Extension of Stay Based on Marriage will expire on October 31 and I have to go to Bangkok Immigration at Chaeng Watthana to apply for a new extension. I was wondering if you could point me to the list of all required documents at this time, because I don't even trust that the info is up to date on their website.

I have the 400,000 THB in a bank account, untouched since the first extension. Just need to update the bank book in the morning and get a certification letter from the Bank, but would be grateful for an exhaustive list of all that is required. I think I need to get a fresh copy of the Kor Ror 2 (wedding paper) from the district office as well, but not sure how long the document is valid once you get the new copy.

Thanks in advance for all your kind help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking updated documentation requirements for their 1-Year Extension of Stay Based on Marriage at Chaeng Watthana Immigration, which is expiring soon. They mention having the necessary funds and intend to inquire about the specific documents needed, including a fresh Kor Ror 2 certificate. Community replies suggest visiting the Immigration Office directly for the latest requirements and detail a list of necessary documents including financial statements, application forms, and various identification and proof of residence items.

My 1 year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai is due to expire on 21 Nov 2021 which falls on a Sunday which is when immigration will be closed . How far in advance can I turn up at Chaengwattana to submit the required documents ?

as long as you meet the requirements you can apply for a new yearly extension in Bangkok when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp.

Remember the seasoning of the funds is 2 months before the date you APPLY for your extension not the date your extension expires ๐Ÿ™‚

One more related question : Does one need to make an online reservation / virtual queue number / anything at this time before heading to Immigration at Chaeng Watthana? Do I still need to get there by 2 AM to make sure my request gets processed? ;)

FWIW I did this a couple of weeks ago. Went on Tuesday morning around 8:30 and I was out in an hour.

ok, same usual wisdom then! I'll let the zombies gather by 6AM and go there around 9. Thanks a lot for your advice, you're always extremely helpful sir! Cheers!

@Tommy ******
there is no online appointment booking any more, you show up and queue up with the zombie horde.

It's not near that busy I'd say get there by 9 (to let the horde get in when they open at 8:30) and you'll be out by lunch IF you have your shit together.

AND don't go on Monday or Friday

Without you and your thai wife slogging out there to get the hand out listing everything AND asking them if there's anything not on it that you need as well anything people give you will be hit or miss.

here's the stuff I know off the top of my head;

-Bank letter from the bank can be up to 7 days old

-6 month detail transaction print out (you can get it from the bank and they can print it on the spot)

-Bank book needs to be updated the day you apply

TM7 application for extension w/passport photo

copies of

-all pages in your bank book

-Original Kor Ror 3 rose bordered certificate

-new Kor Ror 2 (less than about 6 months old seems ok)

-data page of your passport

-original entry stamp, Non-O visa and current extension

-TM6 departure card

-TM30 receipt

-90 day report receipt

-Lease

-wife's house book listing

-wife's thai id

-hand drawn map to your house (only the immediate area around your house is okay

Photo of you and your wife standing in front of the address numbers of where you live (cannot be selfies)

Photos of you and your wife sitting at the table and on the sofa (2 different photos of both of you in them)

Those things and 1900baht SHOULD get you a 30 day under consideration stamp where you go back in a month and get the year extension inked in.

Again, the BEST way to do it is to slog on out to C/W and go to Section L-1 <- where you file for the extension and get the hand out and talk to them about unlisted stuff they also require

@Tod ********
Don't be sorry, much appreciated! I'll start from your list because as stated above, I want to avoid any unnecessary trip for the time being. We'll try with your list and if they say something's missing, we'll get it sorted. Thanks a lot!

@Tommy ******
read that comment I made about you needing a bangkok address to use Chaengwattana. they'll tell you to go back to Chonburi if you don't have a bangkok address and a TM30 filed on it along with a lease

@Tod ********
Our permanent address is in Bangkok, my wife has a condo there. We're in a rental in Chonburi for a few months. This is why we are going to Chaeng Watthana. Thanks for the warning though :)

@Tommy ******
then take the chanote <- title deed, the blue house book, AND the TM30 that was filed showing you are registered as living at that place. You should have no problem showing you live in bangkok with that.
Robert *******
You may trust the Immigration Office, visit them for the hand out with the latest requirements.
Robert *******
There is an Immigration Office in Chonburi which you can use IF the place where you stay did register you at the Immigration Office.

@Robert ******
Thank you for taking the time to respond and offer me a few options, much appreciated!

@Robert ******
Yeah, we won't use that option. We called the Chonburi office, and they told me we can't since we haven't stayed in Chonburi long enough. Even if she's wrong, we prefer to go to Bangkok Immigration, as we'll move back to BKK in a few months.

@Tommy ******
umm you're NOT gonna be able to use Chaengwattana if you don't have an address where you stay in Bangkok and have a TM30 that shows you are registered here AND have had at least one 90 day report done here (they are somewhat flexible about that 90 day report but not about the address and TM30)

@Tommy ******
See the comment of Tod Daniels, good luck

Well, the thing is, I'm in Chonburi at the moment. I have to travel a few days to Bangkok to get everything ready. I'd like to avoid a trip to Chaeng Watthana only to obtain that list, hence my post here ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm also just recovering from a major surgery, and I have low mobility. so if I can avoid any trip as I can't sit at all at the moment, I would be much grateful! Haha!
Robert *******
Yes, go to the information desk and ask for the hand out with requirements for the Extension of Stay based on marriage with a Thai National.

Thank you Robert. Would you happen to know which page/list I can refer to for Bangkok? What I've seen so far is far from clear.
