Hi guys!

Checking with those who stay in bangkok and living in condo with wife

I going to renew my NON O visa extension (marriage), this is my first time renew in bangkok and living in condo.

1. Do I have to collect all the necessary document (kor2, embassy certify as I using 40k income per month) on that day and submit those document same day to immigration?

2. Can I get the kor 2 in any district office ? As I married in ROI et but now living in bangkok with my wife.

3. For the photo of proof, I have to take photo with my wife background of my room number , sitting on the bed with my wife and outside of the condo with the condo name?

4. Do I have to book appointment for renew visa ?

5. Do Bangkok immigration accept Google map screenshot from immigration to condo or I have to draw it out?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the process of renewing a NON-O visa extension based on marriage while residing in Bangkok. Key points include the need to gather all required documents, including the Kor Ror 2 from any district office, taking specific photos with your spouse, and whether an appointment is necessary for the renewal. Additionally, there are inquiries about the acceptance of a Google Maps screenshot as proof of residency. Comments from experienced expats suggest bringing all pertinent documents to the immigration office and verifying requirements directly with them, as practices may vary by location.

You can get the Kor Ror 2 from any office any time. They just want it to be fairly new.

The bank book letter (the one that states your name, account number and balance on the date you get the letter) can be up to 7 days old in Bangkok.

The photos are you and your wife standing in front of the address numbers of where you live, two photos of you two sitting around the house and also a hand drawn map to your house.

Using the 40K baht a month income are you doing that by monthly transfers to a thai bank account in your name only for the previous 12 months? OR does your embassy issue the income from abroad notary letter?

If you're doing it with monthly transfers you need to have the bank give you a print out showing the previous 12 months incoming overseas transfers

if you are renting the condo you will also need your lease, with the name of the condo on it, a copy of the owners Thai ID card, and a copy of the house book he is listed in. Lots of original leases do not have the condo name on it, so you must get one with the property name and address on it. This can take time to get. The rest is pretty much the same, wife's ID card copy, the copy of the house book she's listed in, copy of your passport, and entry stamp, visa, and extensions. A current passport photo to go on the application, and they do check past photos used to check if it is a new one. The hand drawn map, and outside pictures with both of you in them, are basically so if they decide to make a visit during your 30 day under consideration, they can find it and by the pictures know they have the right location. They like a picture of both in front showing the property, at the doorway if you have to enter a hallway to get to your condo, a picture showing the room number, and two different pictures inside, and all pictures must have both of you in them. If you get to Chaing Wattana and in the queue before 7:30am, they open at 8:30am, you should be finished before noon. If you get there about 6:30am, or before 7am, you should be done before 10am, if all your documents are in order. There are two sets of queues. One when you get there before they open, and another when you are let inside, go straight through to the next door then go to the counter straight ahead on the right, and get your L-1 section queue number. It is real good to go there long before time with your wife and get their list of documents, and her with so they can tell her about the documents not on the list. You can now extend it up to 45 days before your current extension expires, as of Sept. 4th. It was just 3 days before, but they have now went back to the 45vday timeframe.

pictures of how you get to your condo door from the front entrance onto the property where you took the first picture. Lots of times you have to enter a hallway to get to the condo door, or go on a pathway if you have an entrance door from the outside. Basically where you walk to get to the door of your condo.

and it can't be "selfie" style photos, they'll turn you away.

you BOTH have to be in the pics, so get someone to take it of you two with the name of the condo and then standing in front of the door with the number on it and then you two inside

Best to ask the immigration office direct for their check list first.

Of course they always use the disclaimer that they can ask for additional information. But it would be a good start as some offices ask for different info.

renew visa in bangkok will be at chaengwattana right ?

@Canice *****
you don't ever renew a a visa 😮 What you are doing is applying for a year extension of stay based on marriage to a thai and you do that out at Chaengwattana Immigrations Section L-1. You'll apply, pay the 1900baht and you get a 30 day under consideration stamp. Then when that runs out you go back to Chaengwattana with your passport to Section L-2 and they will ink the year extension in.

I believe so assuming you aren’t doing it through business at the one stop shop.

Take everything you can think of, all depends on the office and the day.
