Extension of stay non-OA (marriage). Hi all, my extension is up on the 31st of this month and I want to get my new extension sooner rather than later. Besides the TM.7 application, copies of everything in the passport, the bank letter confirming 40K/month, and copies of all bank statements, copy of my rental contract, what else do I need to prepare?

Also, this will be the 2nd year of this type of visa. Do I have to go through the extensive interview process again and do I have to deal with the dreaded home visit by 6 police again???

Thanks in advance for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on the documentation required to extend their Non-OA marriage visa in Thailand. They mention needing to prepare the TM.7 application, bank statements, a rental contract, and ask if they will face an extensive interview process and home visit by police again for their second extension. Respondents clarify that requirements can vary by immigration office, and every extension is treated as a new application requiring updated documentation, including photos and potentially a home visit.

that was a false impression, you need all new photos, and you'll get the 30 day under consideration stamp when you apply.

It'll be up to the immigration office whether they come to your house or not for the in home visit.

As Ellie said, EVERY year extension is a brand new application (seeing as you can't get an extension for more than a year) so each one is treated as "new"; requiring all new documentation, bank, letters, updated bank book, yearly transaction history, photos , copies, etc The might might even erquire you to update your Kor Ror 2 <- the certificate from the Amphur that states you're still married.

you should be good then and you're doing it with plenty of time to get everything ready too.

Good luck with it (y)

So just to clarify.....my OA visa was from 2007 (retirement), I had numerous retirement extensions, then Amnesty, Covid, etc. In January 2022 I extended by way of marriage/family. I was under the impression that the interview, photos, visit by police, etc. was the first year only in Chiang Mai? No? Also I don't need the owner of the house to come again and show his ID, take a photo with me, etc? do I???

Yes, but the second time they wanted a different witness

You might get a interview and a home visit again in Chiang Mai. I got that twice in 3 years

you need everything every year. There is no “second” extension. Every time it is new a new 1-year extension application.

Surely the non OA is for retirement.

You should have entered on Non-O, not Non-OA (long-stay) visa if you applied for the first extension based on being married to a Thai.

Here are the COMMON things that would be asked for an extension based on marriage. But requirements vary at each immigration office, you need to go to the local immigration office to get the latest and their specific requirements handout.

Every extension is a new extension every year, and you will be stamped for the under-consideration period. Usually, you will have the IO visit or witness interview during U/C, as same as last year.
