Hi, it is hard to find official information about the extension of the 30-day visa exemption in Thailand. Is this a reliable way to extend your stay? What documents do I need- do the copies of my passport pages have to be physical, or do photos on my phone suffice? Does it matter what size the passport-sized photo is?- different sites say different sizes.

Thanks for your answers

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand, you need to provide actual print copies of your passport data page, entry stamp, TM6 (if applicable), and possibly proof of TM30 filing, as phone copies are not accepted. It is advisable to arrive early at immigration, where you can find nearby shops that offer printing services. The passport-sized photo required for the application should typically be 4cm x 6cm, and the exact dimensions may vary slightly.

There is typically a photo and copy shop close to the immigration offices who will help with the necessary paper copies. Just make sure you arrive early in the day as it’s your first time

You’ll need actual print copies of the documents. They need to be signed by you.

Passport data page, entry stamp, TM6 (if you had one) Some offices want proof of a TM30 filing.

Showing such on a phone will not suffice.

The photo needs to be a general passport type photo. 4cm x 6cm. If it isn’t exact they probably won’t care.

30 days tourism extension is one of the easiest types of extension. For exact documents. you need to contact your local immigration office. Here is the general information for 30 days extension based on tourism.

Don't mind about TM6 departure card. you can change the flight leaving Thailand. And currently, Tm6 is not mandatory since it's not applied to air travelers now

Thank you. I have confusion about one aspect of this. When I enter Thailand, I must fill out a departure card with my flight back, but this flight must be within 30 days of arrival. However, extending 30 days would take me beyond this. Therefore, is it okay to provide the TM6 departure card since it is out of date?

it’s ok. The departure flight isn’t required on entry.

Really? On the Thai Embassy website it says: Proof of onward travel (confirmed air, train, bus or boat tickets) to leave Thailand within 30 days of the arrival date

NEVER EVER trust an embassy/consulate OUTSIDE thailand about anything you can do at the immigration office INSIDE thailand

AND

NEVER EVER trust an immigration office/officer INSIDE thailand about anything you can do at an embassy OUTSIDE thailand.

That’s to get a visa. Not the TM6 card.
