TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 30-day visa extension in Thailand, you need to determine whether you entered with a tourist visa or under visa exemption, as this affects where you apply. The process generally involves: paying a fee of 1,900 baht, bringing your passport, filling out form TM7, providing copies of your passport data page and your entry stamp, and submitting a passport photo. Some offices may require a TM30 form that your hotel should have filed. Requirements can vary by location, so ensure to check the specific documents with your local immigration office.

You will need :-

A pen

Your passport

Fill out form TM7 (available at the office)

Copy passport data page (signed by you)

Copy of entry stamp (signed by you)

Copy of your visa - either the sticker in your passport or pdf evisa (the former signed by you). * if you had one.

Copy of TM6 departure card (signed by you) *if you were issued one - if you entered by air after July ‘22 you wouldn’t have been given one so leave the space on the form blank.

Passport photo (most offices have facilities on site or nearby)

1,900 baht

Some offices may ask for a TM30, which your hotel or landlord should have filed on your behalf. A screenshot of their filing it online will generally suffice as evidence you have one - except if you use the Chiang Mai or Jomtien offices. You have to get the screenshot converted to the paper receipt from a manual TM30 filing.

@Pete *******
they can’t have a visa stamp if they entered exempt. I know of no office that requires previous entry copies.

How did you enter? With a tourist visa or exempt. Depending on your answer you’d either go to the main government complex at Chaengwattana Counter J (if a tourist visa) or IT Square Laksi Plaza Counter K (if exempt).

1900 baht and 3hrs of your time. Get to immigration early. Atleast 45mins before opening...
Steve ********
@Brenton *******
Make an appointment. Takes 30 minutes

@Steve *******
does depend which part of thailand you are in. No appointments in phuket.

First in, first served

Brandon ************
30 day tourism extension is available if you entered Thailand with a tourist visa or on visa exempt (no visa).

Requirements vary from office to office and you didn't give your location. Here is a general guideline.

you didn't give enough information to answer that question.

Did you arrive with a visa you applied for and paid for before coming to Thailand, or did you arrive with no visa?

If you arrived WITH a visa you will go to Chaeng Watthana immigration office.

If you arrived WITHOUT a visa you will go to IT Square Laksi immigration office.
