Hello, I've got a visa exempt entry and I want to apply for an extension. Do you know what are the requirements? Do I need to book a flight out? Also, where should I go in Bangkok?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a visa exempt entry in Thailand, you need to prepare several documents: your passport, a filled-out TM7 form, a copy of the passport data page and entry stamp, and possibly a TM30 form (though it's often not requested). You must bring a passport photo and pay a fee of 1,900 baht. The extension can be done at IT Square Laksi Plaza in Bangkok, where facilities for photo and copying services are available. No flight details are needed for this process.

I also recently got a 45 day exception, and I'd like to extend 30 days. Does history in Thailand matter, I.E. if you have been here too long they won't grant the extension. Been here 10 years, working 7 on nonb/extension of stay, few tourist and 2 years on a legitamate volunteer, 9 months eon education visa. UK passport. Thanks 🙏

In Bangkok you need to go to IT Square Laksi. All you need to take is your passport, money and a pen**. There's booths on either side that will take your photo and photocopy the correct pages for you, costs about 110B. You fill out 3 forms on the table, then pay the 1900B and you're done.

**you may need to provide a TM30, normally they never asked for it in Bangkok, but there's been recent reports of them asking people. So best to have it in case.

No flight details needed.

In Bangkok if you entered visa exempt you go to IT Square Laksi Plaza. 3rd floor. Just near the BTS stop there.

Some reports last week that Laksi were asking for the TM30. Generally they hadn’t been. No idea if a policy change or just a one off.

Passport

Fill out form TM7 (available at the office)

Copy passport data page (signed by you)

Copy of entry stamp (signed by you)

Copy of your visa - either the sticker in your passport or pdf evisa (the former signed by you). * if you had one.

Copy of TM6 departure card (signed by you) *if you were issued one - if you entered by air after July ‘22 you wouldn’t have been given one so leave the space on the form blank.

Passport photo (most offices have facilities on site or nearby)

1,900 baht

Some offices may ask for a TM30, which your hotel or landlord should have filed on your behalf. A screenshot of their filing it online will suffice as evidence you have one.

Yes. Chiang Mai too. Phuket doesn’t.
