Extending a visa exemption from the US for one month in Chang Mai.
Do I need to bring anything or have anything in order besides my passport?
Thank you in advance :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a visa exemption in Chiang Mai, you typically need to provide a signed copy of your passport data page, entry stamp, and TM6 departure card if issued. Additionally, you must fill out form TM7 and provide a passport photo. The fee for the extension is 1,900 baht. It's advisable to apply for the extension well in advance, though the exact timeframe may not be strict. You might also wonder if they make copies at the office or if you should bring your own. Importantly, there are no rules against repeatedly extending your stay through this method, as long as you leave for a nearby country like Cambodia or Vietnam between extensions.

Follow-up to this, I'm also on a TR60:
1) How many days in advance is best to apply for a 30-day extension, or does it not matter?
2) Dumb rookie question: Best to bring in a copy of the passport or will they make a copy of everything they need while at the Immigration office?
3) Bonus: Any rules against repeating this 60+30 day process after the initial 90 days? I'd leave for Cambodia or Vietnam before returning to Thailand on the second TR60.
1. Most offices allow either 45 or 30 days prior. Jontiem will only allow a few days. Irrelevant as to when you go as they add on the days to your current stamp.
2. Most offices will have a copy place on site or nearby where you can get photos and copies for a fee.
3. You will get away with one or two repeats of a TR + 30 and border hops, but it’s not a method of long term stay. At some point they’ll question you and may even deny you entry.
