TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand, your friend can easily do this at any immigration office except in Bangkok, where the process is at IT Square Laksi Plaza. Required documents include a copy of the passport data page, entry stamp, TM6 departure card, a photo, and a fee of 1,900 baht. Your friend will also need to fill out form TM7 to apply for the extension.

What office? Doesn’t actually matter as all will accept walk in, but you may be able to save yourself some time with an appointment.
TM7 forms can be found online, but some offices insist you use their version. All offices will have the form on site. Takes anywhere from 5-20 minutes from application to getting the stamp. How long it will take overall is dependant on how many people are in the queue in front of you.
