Hi all, we're looking to extend our visa exemption (received on arrival) by 30 days. Going to go to the Krabi immigration office tomorrow and understand we need the below documents:
1. Passport
2. a copy of your data page
3. a copy of your most recent stamp (copy of visa as well, if we had one).
4. a copy of your departure card
5. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.
6. The forms (provided at the immigration office but we have also printed a TM7 form)
7. 1x passport picture
8. 1,900 THB.
My main question is regarding the TM30- Does our hotel need to fill something in before we go for the TM30?
And then also what passport picture sizes are accepted? I've read different answers. I have 35mm x 45mm which I used for my UK passport but the form says 4cm x 6cm).
Finally, can our reason for extension just be tourism or? What kind of answers are accepted?
We have all other documents ready.
TIA x
TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a visa exemption in Thailand by 30 days, you'll need several documents including your passport, copies of your passport's data page, recent stamp, departure card, a TM30 filed by your hotel, a TM7 form, a passport photo, and 1,900 THB. The TM30 should typically be filled out by your hotel, and it's advisable to ask for confirmation of this. In Krabi, immigration staff are reported to be helpful and may assist in processing your paperwork. As for the size of the passport photo, both 35mm x 45mm and 4cm x 6cm are accepted, but it's best to confirm with the immigration office. You can state tourism as your reason for extending the visa.
