Good morning all. I have a multiple entry visa none o based on marriage. My question is. Instead of me going to Myanmar and back every 90 days what requirements do I need for Chiang mai immigration at the promenade? Surely it must be easier than a none B holder because they just report online every 90 days. Cheers in advance

, on any of your 90 day entries you could go to the immigration office and apply for a 60 day extension for 1900baht based on "visiting family" (your wife). That extension doesn't require any proof of financials. I know it's not all that long of an extension but it would cut your border bounces down seeing as you'd get 5 months out of each entry not just 3.

We've been married for 10 years lol why is 90 days reporting in cmai more difficult than just going to Myanmar and back every 90 days? My friends with a none immigrants B just do it online, whereas none o based on marriage must exit and come back into Thailand

Really? Well that makes more sense then. They gave me completely the wrong information when i went to see them and as a result I'm now back on new visas every three months.

@Mar***
, unfortunately they are totally wrong,

if you using the income affidavit from your consulate there is no requirement that you bring even a baht of that money into the country.

Good luck but not for me.

@And***
, Nope, you can't go to the immigration office every 90 days on the visa you have. You border-bounce like you have been doing OR you apply for the yearly extension.

Yep you need either the 400K baht in the bank or the 40K baht income per month at ANY immigration office to get a yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a thai. That's how the regulation is written.

Can't one just do the border bounce at Chiang mai immigration instead of the trip to Myanmar and back every 90 days? Lol you really need 400k in Thai baht or 40k a month earnings to do this at Chiang mai immigration, really?

You are confusing a Non-Immigrant Type O visa <- that you have where you exit/re-enter every 90 days with a yearly extension of stay where you get a new extension every year and only do 90 day reporting.

I told you how to get a yearly extension based in marriage in my first answer. Once you have that you only do 90 day reporting.

If you stay on the visa you're on you border-bounce every 90 days. That's how that visa works

you meet the financial requirements of either 400K baht banked in an account in your name for 2 months prior to your application for an extension OR show a notarized letter from your consulate stating you get 40K baht a month in income from abroad. You supply pictures of the wedding, you two standing in front of your address sign, you two inside the house sitting on the sofa or at the table, the marriage certificates, your proof of freedom to marry, and a few other things and apply for a yearly extension of stay for 1900baht. It will go under consideration for 30 days during that time an immigration officer may come to your house to interview you and your neighbors to make sure the marriage is real, after that you go back and get the year extension stamped into your passport
