I'm on a one year multiple entry non-immigrant O 'volunteer' visa. I did a border run last month to renew my entry stamp, which is expiring later this month. I was wondering whether I can extend my stamp at the immigration in Chiang Mai without having to go to Mae Sai every time it expires. Thanks a lot!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether they can extend their entry stamp for a one-year multiple entry non-immigrant O 'volunteer' visa at the immigration office in Chiang Mai, instead of having to do border runs every 90 days. Responses suggest checking with the local Immigration Office for requirements and caution about potential difficulties in obtaining an in-country extension.

IF I was a betting man I'd bet dollars to durian the place you're volunteering at will NOT be able to meet the documentation requirements for you to get an in country yearly extension of stay.

You can certainly ask them BUT I'd say just bounce out and in every 90 days on the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa you have getting a new 90 day stmap every time you bounce. From Chiang Mai the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border with burma is closest and easiest..

yes, get the list with requirements from your local Immigration Office, make the copy, tick the box and when done, apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay
