Hey guys.

Just back in Bangkok after a few days in Ho Chi Minh City to get my multiple entry Non O visa based on marriage.

What is my next step to extending for the year, do I do that after 3 months or can I do it now?

Thanks for all your help :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks about extending their multiple entry Non-O visa based on marriage after returning to Bangkok from Ho Chi Minh City. Comments provide guidance that they can apply for a yearly extension during the last 30 days of any 90-day stay granted by the Non-O visa. This requires meeting financial requirements, such as having 400K baht in a Thai bank account or providing proof of income. If they do not meet these requirements, they can continuously exit and re-enter Thailand for additional 90-day stays.

on that visa you can get 15 months of stay in country (in 90 day increments) You get the visa and get stamped in for 90 days, when that runs down you go to the border stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country and stamp right back into thailand to get another 90 days you do that for the validity of the visa itself (a year from the date of issue). You make sure your LAST bounce out and back in is just prior to the "enter before" date on the visa and it will get you one final 90 day stamp that takes you to 15 months

After that you could even get a 60 day visit thai family extension at the immigration office for 1900baht (without any financial requirements) taking you to 17 months of stay on that one year visa ;)

You can apply for a yearly extension of stay during the last 30 days of ANY of the 90 day entries you get off this Non-O visa during its validity.

You would meet the financial requirements of 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension OR an affidavit of income from abroad notary letter from your consulate stating you get 40K baht a month in income.

The application would go under consideration for 30 days and then you'd go back to get the year extension inked into your passport. Depending on the immigration office you use, they could also come out to your house for a check to make sure you're really married and living where you say.

OK thank you. So basically the visa I am on enables me to leave and come each time with 90 days on my passport?

OK, so without meeting financial requirements can I apply for the year long?

nope, you can't get a year-long extension of stay without meeting the financial requirements

IF you were going to apply for a yearly extension there was no need to get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa :/ The visa you have allows you stays of 90 days and then you exit/re-enter the country and get another 90 days. People get this visa because A) the travel extensively and it works out better than a yearly extension OR B) they don't want to or cannot meet the financial requirements for an in-country yearly extension of stay from the immigration office
