I have a Non-Immigrant. O. Multi entry Visa and need to do a 90 day run to Mae Sai before June 8th. but I’m going back to the States on June 16th. Can I go to immigration in CM and get an extension instead of making the trip to Mae Sai?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a Non-Immigrant O multi-entry visa and is considering whether they can extend their visa in Chiang Mai instead of making a border run to Mae Sai before their trip back to the States. Comments indicate that extensions might be available depending on whether the visa is based on retirement or marriage to a Thai national, each with specific requirements and costs.

If your Non Immigrant O visa is based on being over 50 years (retirement) than you can only apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay if you meet all the requirements like the 800.000 Thb in Thai bank for 2 months or 65.000 Thb monthly income certified by your embassy. But than you need also a re-entry permit to keep this Extension alive during your travels.

No, you don't miss anything.

A one year extension can also be obtained if ones Non Immigrant O visa is based on having a Thai spouse in the Kingdom.

If you Non Immigrant O visa is based on marriage with a Thai National you can once on every entry apply for the 60 days Extension of Stay to visit your family. Cost of this Extension is 1.900 Thb.

Yes my Visa is based on marriage. I was told it was spousal visa but I don’t see anywhere on the Visa that it indicates that.
