Hi Guys,
I have a 1-year Non-O (multiple entry) based on marriage, which expires in May 2018.
I've either been misinformed or I've misunderstood the process for 90 reporting so I'm hoping someone might be able to clarify for me, please?
When I got my last 90-day stamp at the Laos border, the Thai Immigration officer told me that there is no reason to leave Thailand just to get a 90-day stamp. He said I could simply go to the Immigration Office in Roi Et to get my next stamp / do my 90-day report.
My current stamp runs out on Monday next week so I went to the Roi Et Immigration office today but was told that it isn't possible to get a 90-day stamp / do my 90-day report there and I need to do a border run.
The immigration officer told me that to get another 90 days from the immigration office in Roi Et I would need to provide all the same requirements as a full visa application (marriage certificate, proofs of funds in a Thai bank, etc, etc).
I'm confused! Is this correct?
Thanks as always.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the 90-day reporting process for their Non-O visa based on marriage, which is due soon. They were informed by a Thai Immigration officer that they could complete the reporting at the local immigration office in Roi Et, but upon visiting, they were told a border run was necessary and that they would need to provide extensive documentation if extending their stay. The comments reveal confusion among users regarding the difference between completing 90-day reports and the requirements for border runs or extensions.
