hello community, its finally time to for me to come back to thailand and with that comes a question:

i am currently applying for the non o based on marriage (multiple entry) in my homecountry Germany.

After I arrived I will get a 90 days stamp and when this runs out i want to apply for a yearly extension based on marriage (400k in bank account) at the immigration office for 1900baht.

now to my question:

If i then want to travel can i just go in and out as much as i want during the validity of my visa or do i have to take care of anything once i come back to thailand from a trip (except the 90 day report)

let me know if you need any further information.

thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about traveling in and out of Thailand on a Non-O multiple entry visa based on marriage. The responses clarify that while the multiple entry visa allows for several entries over its validity, each stay is subject to a 90-day limit before needing to leave the country. Additionally, during the visa extension process, if the user exits Thailand, a re-entry permit must be acquired to avoid losing the extension. It's emphasized that despite the multiple entry status, the Thai immigration rules require separate handling for visa extensions and re-entries.

Okay thanks for the information, I am a little bit confused tho...

I applied already for the Non O Multiple Entry visa online (e visa) and paid the fee of 175€ (~6300Baht) and with that I thought I get 90 days first and then have to extend for the yearly and can go in and out as I want?

Did I do something wrong?

A multi entry non O is a year long visa and you must leave the country every 90 days. Take Tod's advice.

This applies to the non O multi-entry visa purchased overseas (that does not require a separate re-entry permit) but does not apply to the locally applied year extension (that requires address declaration every 90 days, and re-entry permit if you leave the country and want to re-enter on the same permit to stay).

The yearly extension does not allow you to travel out of Thailand and in again. If you want to leave Thailand during the validity of the extension you have to buy a separate re-entry permit (single for THB 1,000 or multiple for THB 3,800) at any immigration office or immigration counter at an international airport before you leave the country. This re-entry permit will have the same length of validity as your visa extension. If you do not buy a re-entry permit and leave the country your visa will be lost.

Where did you get marry? Thailand or outside? If outside make sure you prepare all the certificates translation and certification things.

Your main goal in your first 90-day is to get the 1-year extension. If you don’t have the money in a Thai bank, open a bank account and deposit the 400K and leave there for 2 months. After that 2 months of money freezing, go and apply for 1 year extension.

Like when Tod’s said, you will need to buy the multiple re entry stamps for a true unlimited in-out permission.

If your plan is to apply for a yearly extension AFTER the 90 days you get when you enter on the Non-O visa why are you getting a multiple entry visa? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Get a 90 day single entry Non-O, come in, get stamped in for 90 days, apply for the yearly extension for 1900baht when you have 30 days or less left on that 90 day stamp, get the 30 day under consideration stamp, go back when that expires and get the one year extension inked in THEN buy a multiple re-entry permit if you want to so you can go in and out all you want for that year
