TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a NON-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national, you should prepare the application form T.M. 7, photographs, copies of your passport and marriage certificate, proof of bank funds (THB 400,000), and additional documentation such as your spouse's house registration and identity card. It is advisable to gather supporting evidence of your marriage, like photos and a map to your residence, especially if applying outside Bangkok. Ensure all documents are signed and have updated bank statements.

To apply for your visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national, you need to prepare and submit the following:

Application form T.M. 7

1 photograph (4x6cm)

Copy of passport, especially Non-Immigrant visa and TM6 arrival/departure card

Visa extension fee 1900 THB

Copy of your marriage certificate (if married in another country, a letter of evidence is required from your embassy as well)

Copy of Kor Ror 2 (marriage registration or long tabian) from amphoe office, dated not older than 6 months from issue of copy

Children’s birth certificates (if applicable)

Copy of spouse’s house registration

Copy of spouse’s identity card

Proof of combined income of 40,000THB or over for the previous 3 months (income tax records PDN1. forms, pension documentation, proof of income through investments, work permit, etc.

Outside of Bangkok, it is often require to prepare 2 COPIES of every required document and photos. Ensure that all copies are signed in ink prior to submittal. This list is what most Immigration offices ask for, however officials are able to ask for further proof of the marriage at their discretion. Therefore, the following should also be prepared in case they are requested:

Map to your home in Thailand

Picture of your house and yourself with family, both inside and outside showing the house number

Tod Daniels With regards to your comment above, when applying for this extension based on marriage in Bangkok does my wife have to go with me? Thanks

Edit - Just read another post by you confirming that she does have to come! Cheers

@Michael *******
there is no combination method on a yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a thai :/

You either used banked money OR income. And the income can come from the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter from your consulate OR by legally working here.
Michael ********
I dod not know that combined income was allowed.

@Tod ********
yes every year.

@Colin *********
every year? I know people in Bangkok who are using the original one from 3 or 4 years ago.

I guess it makes sense because you could have gotten divorced in the meanwhile, although seeing as you have to bring your wife with you I dunno how that could happen.

@Al**
, nope, you're fine, that's a pretty concise list of what's required (y)
Colin **********
I've always had to update the Kor Ror 2 (Prachinburi)
Alex *********
Sorry, Tod, I did not known that you are helping with this
Tod *********
still not a bad list. (y)
Tod *********
some of that isn't accurate

Like the Kor Ror 2 doesn't need to be within 6 months old

the proof of income can be from 400K baht in banked money for 2 months prior to your application OR from a letter from your consulate stating you get 40K baht a month in income from abroad OR by using the pay stubs and tax receipts if you're working in the country.
Tod *********
@Si***
, yep, just update your bank book on the day you apply for the extension and get the bank letter from the bank the day before. You'll need pictures of you two in front of your address numbers where you live, pictures of you two sitting in the house, pictures of you two at the wedding, a map to your house, your marriage documents

You will pay the 1900baht and get a 30 day under consideration stamp and then go back after the 30 days is up to get your year extension stamped into your passport
Colin **********
Are you having to renew it yourself? If so when?
