Yesterday we went to the Immigration Office to extend my 90 day Non-O Visa based on Marriage. Well as it turns out we have to go back again in about 2 weeks as: we turned up and dealt with a very nice Immigration lady, but: 1) we came too early, must have used at least 45 days on our 90 day Non-O visa, 2) when we come back, need an updated bankbook and letter from the bank, 3) update blue book at Amphoe-a small name change 4) updated marriage certificate from Amphoe showing that we are still married; it will be a stamp on this certificate. All doable. Immigration was very patient and helpful with us.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a 90-day Non-O Visa based on marriage in Thailand, you must wait until you have used at least 45 days of your visa. Required documents include an updated bank statement, an updated marriage certificate, and a small update to the blue book due to a name change. Additionally, you will need photos (one outside showing your house number and one inside), a hand-drawn map of your house location, and possibly witnesses with their Thai ID cards and blue house books. Be prepared for a house visit from immigration as well.

Also don’t forget the photos of you both, one outside showing the house number clearly, one inside together, we lodge six photos per yearly extension. Also you need a hand drawn map to show the location of your house.

As most immigration offices are different, you will need different documents, we also required photo copies of every page in your passport with a stamp, copy of TM6, TM30.

As it is also your first extension, you may be required to produce two witnesses with their Thai ID cards and blue house books and copies of. You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp in your passport which will show the day you need to go back to receive your yearly extension stamp. Also be prepared for a house visit from immigration as well. Good luck with it all, fairly straight forward if you are organized, I have been doing my own for a while now, never encountered a problem, but everyone has a different experience.

Thanks Rob. Got the house photos and all the other docs incl. the house map. At 90 day renewal I was told I need TM 47 and TM 30. They asked for one non-family witness. Thanks Rob, Mark
