How can I extend my Non-O Multiple Entry Spouse Visa and apply for a One Year Spouse Visa in Thailand?

I currently have NonO Multiple Entry Spouse Visa issued in Australia and I am legally married to a Thai National.

Please correct me if I am wrong by saying as follows:

I keep on doing 90 day border/ visa runs until visa nearly runs out and then get another 30 extension on my last run.

I then apply for a new One Year Spouse Visa at any local Thai Immigration Office and do 90 day reports.

I apply a couple of weeks before expire date showing ฿ 400.000 in my Thai bank account being in my account for motor then 3 month.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking to confirm their understanding of the process to manage their Non-O Multiple Entry Spouse Visa. They think they can continue to do 90-day border runs until their visa is about to expire, get a final 30-day extension, and then apply for a One Year Spouse Visa at a local immigration office. However, other comments clarify that they cannot get a 30-day extension on a Non-O based on marriage, emphasizing the correct procedure for border runs, the need for a 60-day extension under the visit family clause, and the importance of having the required funds in a Thai bank account for two months prior to applying for the yearly extension based on marriage.

Hi..does anyone here experience of having border bounce 2 times already? The same border and on the 2nd time you have to stay a night? Then u can get 90 days visa stamp? Pls avoid Poiphet at Aranya pratet, Sakeo border..

Heard that must not border bounce 2 times with the same border...

there is nothing in the rules that say you can't bounce at the same border. I know people who bounce at the same one over and over and over.

you cannot get a 30 day extension on a Non-O based on marriage.

You continue to border bounce every 90 days making sure your LAST bounce out and back in is just before the "enter before" or "valid until" date on the VISA itself. That gets you one final 90 day entry stamp (taking you to 15 months in country) and then if you want to you can extend that entry by 60 days under the visit thai family clause for 1900baht at the immigration office.

You will not be applying for ANY visa at the immigration office, because you already have a Non-O visa now. When you have 30 days or less left on one of your 90 day entry stamps (or that 60 day extension) you would apply for a yearly extension of stay based on marriage. If you're using the banked money method you need to have the money in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension. Your application will go under consideration for 30 days and then you go back and get the year extension inked into your passport

You apply for an Extension of Stay at the Immigration Office in your area.

, in theory you can do that 60 day extension on ANY of the 90 day entries you make on that visa.

, I'm on the same visum. Is it also possible to do the 60 days extention first, and then border runs after? I only need a total of 8 months btw

Thank you Tod, I understand. The date on my visa is June 4 2019.

Do I still need to do border bounces with a new yearly extension, or just reports?
