Hi all. I have a question re: the non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national.

If I obtain the initial non-O at Savannakhet / Ho Chi Minh (no financials), and then apply for a 1 year extension within 90 days here in Bangkok, what would I need to show re: income - i.e. is it a certain number of payslips or are they just looking to see an employment contract?

The reason that I ask is that my job is likely to start around the same time that I get the non-O. Thanks in advance!

Cheers Tod. That should give me enough time to get 3 payslips so that I can apply in-country for the 1 year extension. Just in case I decide to go the other route - i.e. get a type B and then convert to a non-O based on marriage - is this a straightforward process? I dont want to piss my new employer off!

Yeah that was my thinking. Cheers as always for the advice Tod, and happy Friday!

I'd say get the Non-O and give the Non-B a pass. Being married to a thai you can hold a work permit on a Non-O and an extension. Plus if you lost your job (for some reason) your extension wouldn't be affected because it's not based on employment but marriage

@Ad**
, yep, you can extend that 90 day entry by 60 days under the "visit family" extension.

Hi Robert, Tod. One other thing occurred to me - am I correct in saying that if I was to obtain a Single Entry Non-O, that there is an option to extend the 90 days for another 60 days in country?

@Ad**
, you can use the thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh City too for the Non-O without financials

HCM requires guarantee letter from thai spouse and certified copy of ID, can someone who went there provide some feedback as I plan to go there next week. Tx

Cheers Robert - thanks as always for the prompt guidance - much appreciated!

From what I read Savannakhet should be possible, I have no experience by doing this myself.

Ok great. Last question - can I get a Multiple Entry 1 year non-O at Savannakhet / HCM without financials?
Robert *******
Than you need a Multiple Entry 1 year Non O visa, with a Single Entry you can not o border bounces to extend it.

Thanks Robert - so if I was to get the non-O in September, and then start work in October, I'd have to do 1 border bounce and get the extension in early 2018?

If you work for a company it is Income tax and social security payments from you and 4 Thai staff of the last three months. And a list of other documents:
