Hi, I entered Thailand on a non o-marriage e-visa multiple entry 90 days issued in my home country.

My 90 days are over beginning next month. Would like to stay 30 days more without traveling all the way back to Europe.

What is the best way to do it ? Leaving the country for a day or two ? Visa extension?

Thanks for your comments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to extend their stay in Thailand after their 90-day Non-O marriage e-visa expires. The responses offer three main options: applying for a yearly extension based on marriage, pursuing a 60-day family extension, or exiting and re-entering Thailand to receive a new 90-day stamp. It is highlighted that there is no mandatory time needed out of the country before re-entering.

Okay you hold a year long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage which gives you unlimited entries of 90 days each during the year it's valid for.

When your 90 day stamp runs out, you have THREE choices

1 - meet the financial requirements (400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply) and apply for a yearly extension based on marriage at the immigration office for 1900baht

2 - apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension at the immigration office for 1900baht

3 - exit/re-enter the country to get a new 90 day entry stamp (meeting the entry requirements of the country you're going to and thailand to get back in)

There is no requirement to be out of the country any length of time, many people on that visa go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country, turn right around and stamp back in to thailand to get another 90 day entry stamp.

You will need a NEW thai pass approved to get back in to thailand but you can apply for it before you even go to the border (as long as you pick the crossing you're comin' back in to thailand on when you apply)

@Tod ********
thank you. If I am exit/re-enter the country which border would be the best to do it ? I am living in Pattaya and have a car.

Regarding option 2: if I get a family extension for 60 days will my multiple visa still be valid after ? Donโ€™t want to get a problem after with immigration.

Thanks for your help. Guess I will go for the 60 day extension as I canโ€™t see any disadvantages. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

nope no down side at all, in fact many people (depending on their immigration office) get a 90 day entry stamp, take the 60 day extension then bounce out and back, get a new 90 day entry stamp, take a new 60 day extension, etc.

sorry
@Mike ********
no disrespect intended but this isn't a "find me the nearest land border so I can bounce out and back" group ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Post on a pattaya f/b group or google is your friend (y) It would most likely be one of the cambodia border crossings (and you'll need to get an approved thai pass to get back IN to thailand before you go)

AND

Like Matt said, getting a 60 day visit family extension won't affect your visa validity at all.

regarding option 2: yes, your ME visa will still be valid and you can exit/enter the country again, assuming your ME visa is still within validity.

One note about the 60 extension is that I believe you are only allowed one such extension per entry.
