Hi, I came in Thailand with a 30 day visa exempt on March 20 and applied and received an extension based on visiting Thai wife on August 27, which will kick in September 27 and end on November 26. My question is, can I, how and where to apply for an extension based on Marriage? Reason why I ask is that I’m about to season my funds into my Thai account and abit confused if I’m eligible for an extension based on marriage. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user entered Thailand with a 30-day visa exemption and was granted a 60-day extension based on their Thai spouse. They are looking to apply for an extension based on marriage. To do this, they first need to secure a 90-day NON-O visa at their local immigration office, which will allow them to eventually apply for a year-long extension based on marriage. Preparation for the marriage visa application requires a valid passport, marriage certificate in Thai, proof of residence, and a recent photograph. Additionally, they must demonstrate financial credibility by maintaining at least 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank account.

What do you need to prepare about the docs for an extension based on visiting Thai wife?

your husbands passport, your ic, marriage certificate (in Thai), house book registration with your name in it and one 4x6 cm photo. These where all the requirements from the handout that my local immigration office gave me. Once submitted it took me 30min to get the stamp and out...

Does he get that at he’s local immigration office and where he got the 60 extension from?

yep, he uses the immigration office in the area where he lives to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa. SO hopefully it's the same on he got the 60 day visit thai family extension from

You can't get a year extension based on marriage until you get the 90 day non-O visa issued. That is your next step in this..

I think yes you get at the office you got your 60 day extension at. But I’m no expert so wait for Tods reply

You entered on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp SO your first order of business is getting a 90 day non-Immigrant type visa based on marriage from your immigration office during this 60 day extension.

You need to meet the proof of funds (400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only) but there is no seasoning, you only need to prove the money came from overseas.

you need to show that you have 400K baht transferred into a thai bank account in your name only to apply for the in country 90 day Non-O visa.

GO to your immigration office you got the 60 day visit family extension with your thai wife and get the hand out of what you need to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage.
