How do I extend my DTV stay and complete 90-day reporting in Thailand?

# Hi all! I just got my DTV approved in Brussels, I'm so happy and thankful.

I still have some questions for anyone who might know:

1. How do you extend your stay after 180 days? If I travel outside Thailand once in a while, will that be sufficient and give me another 180 days every time? Or do i need to apply somewhere and pay an extension fee?

2. I hear 90 day reporting for the DTV is required, is that correct? What's the procedure for this? (my residence will be in Silom, Bangkok)

Thanks!

For anyone preparing to apply, here's my experience:

I applied using the Thai E-visa website (Brussels embassy). The documents I submitted (additional from my passport scans, photo etc) were:

- Certificate of main residence ('Attest van Hoofdverblijfplaats')

- A PDF containing my company registration (from the Belgian KBO website) + a brief portfolio (about 6 pages) of web development projects I have been working on during the last couple of years

- A certificate from my bank stating the current amount on my savings account ('Attest bevestiging saldo', dated 2 days prior to my application date) (I requested this from my bank per telephone).

I waited for 25 days before the visa got approved, the confirmation came per email with a PDF e-visa attached.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has received approval for a DTV visa and is seeking advice on extending their stay beyond 180 days and the required 90-day reporting process. It is mentioned that one can apply for a 180-day extension or reenter Thailand to receive a new 180-day stamp each time. Additionally, a 90-day reporting to the immigration office is compulsory, with the procedure requiring an in-person report for the first instance.

I am sure you came across this before...many foreigners opt to never do the 90 day report and just pay 2000 baht fine every year, as it gives a relief from the stringet immigration office's polices, which are unnecessary, and a joke to avoid for 60 USD. People who tell you to report are conditioned to their homeland terror. I personally haven't seen an immigration office for years (on a non Immi visa - what to speak of a tourist visa, duh) as little money can buy anything. But I encourage this only if you are a person adhering to the spirit of the Thai people.

nobody knows for certain yet, as immigration hasn’t released any details on how or what might be required.

- We do know for certain that every time you reenter you get a new 180 day stamp.

@John ******
do you need to report every 90 days?

I believe so. My understanding is that all non Thais (unless you have a specific visa that says you don’t have to) are required to report every 90days. Not sure why people are so concerned though. First time in person, future times online

@John ******
how do you know that, because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said??

Because that's how multiple-entry visas work...

I am fully aware how a multiple entry visa works, been living and coming here since 1979, I certainly don’t need it explained to me at all.

kind of seems like you do need it explained.

I have had a DTV for several months now. I have entered Thailand 4 times. Each time I received a new 180 day stamp

multiple people have posted they've left and come back on DTV and got new 180 days. One guy said he has done it 4 times since July. It is true we don't know how an extention while staying in the country after 180 days will work but there is evidence that it does in fact reset each time you leave and come back.

1) You can apply for a 180 day extension on each entry. No one knows what this entails as we are still months away from the first extension even being possible. Or you can just leave and return and get a new 180 day stamp.

2) 90 day reporting is required. You would go to the immigration office at Chaeng Watthana to do your 90 day report since the first report is required in person, and the first report after returning from outside the country is required to be in person, so you might never be able to use the online system to do it.

there are DTV groups. You have have better luck there. I seen one guy has left and come back 4 times since July each time getting a new 180 days on entry. No 90 day reporting so far. But we'd probably need to wait till after

to find that out. Assuming someone got their DTV on day one it was available.
