So a friend mentioned that I have to check in every 90 days with a DTV visa. I hadn’t heard that before but confirmed it is true. But if I leave the country before 90 days and come back it starts over correct? It’s only if I am here consecutively for 90 days and am remaining in country that I need to do this check in?

Not if I am back home n my original date of entry’s 90 day I don’t need to go to immigration. Correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When holding a DTV visa in Thailand, you are required to check in every 90 days if you remain in the country continuously for that duration. If you leave before reaching 90 days, the countdown resets when you return. Consequently, you'll need to report again 89 days after your re-entry into Thailand.

It gets more complicated. If you travel and stay in a hotel, that hotel will submit a TM30 form, even for one night. So you will have to be sure that your landlord/property agent submits a new TM30 when you get home. This happens every single time you stay at a hotel.

Correct, all foreigners (unless on one of the special visas that allow), have to check in every 90 days

- Each province has an immigration office. You check in there.

The 90 day reporting works like this

- IF you're in the country 90 continuous days you file a 90 day report

- IF you leave the country before the 90th day you don't

- when you leave the country the 90 day count down clock stops

- when you come back the NEXT 90 day report is due 89 days after you stamp back in (the day you stamp in is counted as day one)

If you are inside Thailand for 90 days including the date of entry you must do the report
