What should I know about the DTV visa process and ensuring compliance with 90-day reporting in Thailand?

I recently applied for DTV (Remote Worker)

I'm from USA and applied to the Washington Embassy

I originally applied for LTR-T WFT which is currently pending.

Impatiently waited 2 months for LTR so I applied for DTV too

While I wait for LTR to be approved, I now have DTV.

* Employment Verification w/ HR allow to work from Thailand

March 21 @ 2PM - REQ additional Documents

---

Application:

* thaievisa.go.th/

Washington Embassy DTV:

* washingtondc.thaiembassy.org/en/page/dtv-visa/

TM30:

* tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30EN/index.html/

90 Day Report:

* immigration.go.th/?page_id=1648/

I learned the first 90 day report must be done in person.

Can anyone confirm you can report online after your 1st 180 days entry or extension?

Happy to be proved wrong but the 90 Day method of reporting also resets after you re-enter ie first time in person every time.

I'm currently been on the following step the longest...

Step 4:

- Req for employment contract (reject ori doc)

- Req allow wrk from Thailand (reject ori doc)

- Req finance audit (reject ori doc)

Almost 2 months waiting since application submission.

Base on my prediction each requested docs if rejected takes about 3 weeks. If my finance audit is suffice, I have two more sections which is health insurance, and w2. Base on my estimate, another 6 weeks.

Anonymous participant when I applied, overall, it went very quick. Ultimately rejected though. While the company I worked for had almost 800 million usd in revenue, it was not categorized as for profit or privately owned (a foundation).

Which part did you get to until they rejected completely? Did they even ask for finance audit report? Did they ask for Health insurance or 100k? How long did you have to wait until they denied you?

Anonymous participant - I had supplied finance audit reports and health insurance. Neither were issues. I had actually hired a law firm to manage the process. One located near BOI. It was a long time ago, right when it was created, so maybe sept 2022?

This year BOI made some changes and it became a bit more lenient. Which may be the reason more people are applying and its taking longer for me. It doesn't hurt or cost a thing to apply yourself. You should try again.

Anonymous participant - I saw that they changed some of the regulations. However, I met everything before, except that the classification of the company I work for is neither “private” nor “publicly traded”. So, unless that changes, no luck. That being said, I have a DTV since July and am now married to a Thai, so have options. 7 years, retirement becomes an option.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
