Hi ! I’ve applied for a 1 year visa married to my Thai wife on the 23rd of January at the Chiang Mai immigration Office. I’ve got a stamp to come back on the 5th of April which is almost a two and a half month waiting period. I’ve always heard the consideration period was 30 days. Any idea or similar experiences ? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has applied for a 1-year visa based on marriage to a Thai citizen at the Chiang Mai immigration office and is waiting for a longer-than-expected processing time. They received a stamp indicating a return date nearly two and a half months after the application, causing concern since they have heard the normal consideration period is around 30 days. A commenter clarified that the 30-day under consideration stamp is typically added to the expiration date of the applicant's current visa.

as a rule the 30 day under consideration stamp is ADDED to your current stamp's expiration date.

What was the expiration date your stamp at the time you applied for the year on Jan 23
