Just an update about Buengkan immigration office.

Went there today, me and another person to do our 90 day check in. That was both done in a few minutes.

The person I was with, wants to change his yearly extension to being based on marriage, from the based on being over 50 that he has now, when applying next time in October.

We asked about proof of funds if using income method, as our embassy is one of the 4 that no longer providing the affidavit and the person I was with has used income method for many years. He just wanted to know in good time, what specific paperwork was needed in this case.

The answer was very clear.

12 months of bank statements showing international transfers will be accepted along with a bank letter. No further documentation of funds needed. That might also mean that there is no leniency regarding extensions based on being over 50, if having less than 12 months of transfers. But in this case it's irrelevant as there are years of transfers each and every month, well above the requirements for extension based on marriage.

All in all, very polite, efficient and friendly service as always there.

So.. Today I went to Buengkan immigration officer to apply for 1 year extension based on marriage. My first 1 year extension expires 3rd of October. I had to go today anyway to do my 90 days report and decided to apply for the extension at the same time, as it is less than 30 days before expiration. I had all the necessary documents and money seasoned for an appropriate time. Actually there was no problems.. Just one thing I dont fully understand.. I got the under consideration stamp, and I was under the impression this was a 30 day thing.. So I was expecting to be asked to come back about 10th of October. But they stamped in 2nd of November for me to come back and get the extension stamp inked in. Is it normal procedure, because my extension actually is valid until 3rd October, and then count the 30 days under consideration from then? In reality it means that it is now under consideration for almost 60 days.. Not a problem though. I dont mind if i have to go October or November. Just wondering.. Anybody knows this?
