What are the chances of receiving an 'under consideration' stamp when extending a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand?

Hello all. I'm in Thailand on a 60day tourist visa for vacation. I want to extent it once with 30 days (no need for any extensions after that, as I'll have to return home). How big are the chances you'll get an "under consideration" stamp,instead of directly your extension ? I do not intend to stay in any province for longer than 7 days.

My plan was to renew my visa next week in Ubon Ratchathani, and then continue travelling to either Bangkok or Phuket. An "under consideration" stamp would mean I need to fly beck just to pick up the final visa extension stamp. If these are regularly issues, then it might be better to extend last minute, in my then current city, right?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user on a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand is seeking advice on the likelihood of receiving an 'under consideration' stamp rather than an immediate extension when attempting to extend their visa by 30 days in Ubon Ratchathani. The discussion reveals that typical extensions for tourist visas are issued instantly with no 'under consideration' stamp required. Several commenters confirm that the process is generally straightforward, and one user shares a personal experience of receiving an 'under consideration' stamp due to the unavailability of the immigration officer. Furthermore, the user inquires about the necessary documents for applying for an extension, indicating a need for detailed information on the extension process.

What documents are required to apply for a 30-day extension of 60-day tourist visa?

@Bang ****
these are the documents needed by Phuket immigration. Your local office might have slightly different requirements.

You'll get the 30 days extention straight away, no under consideration.

I got a 15 days under consideration stamp once because the head of the immigration office was in Bangkok for a meeting and nobody else could sign the extension in my passport. I came back 48 hours later and got my full extension.

well obviously from that it can happen but it’s highly unusual.

Sure, but I wanted to point out that when you have a under consideration stamp, you don't usually need to wait until the last day to get your extension (except maybe in big crowded places like Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket).

TR extensions are “instant”. You don’t get an under consideration stamp for those, just the extra 30 days added to your existing stamp
