TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a situation where an individual applied for a marriage visa extension in Thailand but has yet to receive their passport stamp after the initial 30 days of consideration. They were informed by the immigration office that there is no cause for concern and they are not in overstay, although some people have waited for up to two months. Comments confirm that delays are common and as long as the application is under consideration, the individual does not have to worry about being on overstay.
It is totally normal (especially at some immigration offices who send their paperwork to the division head office for approval) to have people run past the 30 day under consideration stamp you get when you apply for your yearly extension of stay.
So you applied at your local Immigration Office for the Extension of Stay based on being married to a Thai National and got a stamp 30 days under consideration. If Immigration Office takes longer than 30 days to review your documents you are not on overstay and do not have to worry.
I dont' see what your comments or questions have to do with THIS topic? If your'e concerned about how the financial requirements work for either a Non-O visa based on marriage inside the country OR a yearly extension at the immigration office please make your own post..
am same as you pal did all paper work ..proof of funds got 30 days ..but i was told i only need to go with my passport for 11 month stamp they never said anything about a update bank book hope this is right i go tomorrow
an Extension of Stay. That is the name of the stamp as mentioned on the second line: Extension of Stay is permitted up to ../../.. There is no word in this stamp that says visa.
If you are talking about the Extension of Stay based on being married to a Thai National and are told by your Immigration Office that they wanted to see an updated bank book at the moment you're collecting the remaining 11 months of this 1 year Extension of Stay you are correct. If you are talking about getting the Non Immigrant O visa based on being married to a Thai National at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet there are no financial requirements. I understand it saves typing time, but what is a marriage visa?
