TLDR : Answer Summary
When you obtain a tourist visa from the UK for Thailand, you need to enter the country within 90 days of the visa's issue date. This means the visa allows entry until the date specified on the visa sticker, which is usually three months from issuance. After entering Thailand, you typically receive a 60-day stay which can potentially be extended for an additional 30 days, assuming the necessary formalities are followed at an immigration office.

Lots of confusion about the validity of the visa and the number of days you can stay in the country in this thread.
They are 2 different things.

From the issue date you have 90 days.. If you show up on day 30 you have 60 days, not 90 been there done that paid the fine..
I believe you are confusing TWO completely different things; the visa validity with the number of days that visa gets you stamped in to the country..
A single entry tourist VISA is valid for 90 days from the date it's issued. <- That means you have 90 days to ENTER thailand.
Even if you enter the country on the last day the visa is valid for you will still get stamped in for 60 days like everyone does who enters on a tourist visa.
AND
you can apply for one 30 day extension on that 60 day entry stamp from a tourist visa at the immigration office for 1900baht
yes we had to pay 15,000 baht each in cash at the airport, they let us leave came back the next day with cash $300 each for airline change.. This was right after the government takeover, the embassy told us the visa was good for 90 upon entering the country then immigration said nope pay up..
You didn't look at the stamp in your passport. You have 90 days from the date the visa is issued to use it. Once you use it to enter the country, you have 60 days in the country.
it was the 1st time we had ever extended and just listened to the the embassy lessons learned.. we are making our 9th trip in 10 years this Sunday and have learned lots over the years..
well i hoped you learnt to always look at your stamps, amazing though most people dont. I take groups of workers on repair jobs offshore, alway get there passports double check all the stamps

That is correct. 90 days to enter. Then upon entry you get 60 days.
you get 3 months to enter the kingdom of Thailand from when the Visa is issued. Then once in Thailand the visa is valid for 60 days however you can then extend for 30 days more. Is this what you mean?
you have 90 days to enter Thailand from date of issue. You will then have 60 days validity upon entry to Thailand. So, you could enter 2 and a half months after tourist visa has been issued to you, upon entry to Thailand you will be stamped in for 60 days still.
