TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen cannot apply for a 90-day tourist visa to Thailand, as the standard tourist visa lasts for 60 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days for a fee. Additionally, the visa exemption for UK citizens allows them to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days upon arrival, which can also be extended for 30 days. Therefore, it's suggested to take advantage of the visa exemption.

There is no 90 day tourist visa. Maybe you're confused with Vietnam.

60-day Visa Exempt or 60-day tourist visa. Extension is ฿1900

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realise the 60 days visa exemption had been introduced
All of them have the requirement, as it’s the actual rule from Thai Immigration , but it’s a matter of how the check in staff decide to deal with it. I’m on a Thailand forum and many members have been asked at check in. Some have had to buy an onward ticket on their phones at the airport to be allowed to fly. Other check in staff don’t bother so it’s inconsistent.

Just fly in. You’ll get a 60 day exempt on arrival. Later go to immigration very early in the day, and get another 30 days for 1900 Baht. Go early because it’s very busy.
okay thanks for answering. But if i want to stay in Thailand 90 days and I can make Visa in airport on arrival for 60 day's, is that means that I must have 2 return tickets? One for 60 day's and one for 90 days? I think that will be silly and expensive 🫰
There is no 90 day Tourist Visa. The visa is 60 days, but can be extended for another 30 in Thailand. However, as they’ve just increased the Visa Exempt entry to 60 days, which can also be extended, there’s really no point getting a Tourist Visa.
