hello, can someone put my mind at ease please?

i’ve entered thailand already this year; january 24th, then left and went to Philippines and re-entered thailand on April 7th- i then extended my visa for an additional 30 days on this visit.

i’ve booked my flight back to Thailand in September and want to stay for 60 days. which visa do i need? am i able to get a 30 day visa on arrival and again go to the immigration office to extend for another 30 days? or is there another visa i need to apply for?

(i am flying from the uk and have a british passport) TIA 🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British passport holder can enter Thailand without a visa for 30 days under the Visa Exempt rule. Upon arrival, you can apply for a 30-day extension at an immigration office. Alternatively, you can apply for a 60-day tourist e-visa from the Thai embassy in the UK, which is recommended as it saves time at immigration and is generally cheaper than extending a visa in Thailand. It's also important to confirm your airline's requirements regarding proof of onward travel.

You cannot get Visa on arrival (which is where you apply and pay for a 15 day visa at the airport) with a British passport. You can get Visa Exempt which means no visa at all.

You can either arrive visa exempt and apply for a 30 day extension.

Or you can apply for a 60 day e-visa from the Thai embassy in London and not have to spend a day at immigration while you're in Thailand. The visa from the embassy is also cheaper than if you pay for an extension in Thailand.

You'll also need to check with your airline if you decide to travel without a visa because some airlines will require you to show proof of leaving Thailand within 30 days before they'll let you board your flight.

sorry my mistake, visa exemption is what i meant 😅 if i apply for the 60 day tourist visa and it gets granted, would i be able to show this to my airline? would they still let me board the flight?

they may require you to show you have a flight out of Thailand within 60 days if you have a tourist visa so as long as you can show that then it's fine
