Hi, I have a 60 day tourist visa that I got in the UK before coming to Thailand. On this visa in my passport is says valid from 26th Sept to 25 Dec (they seem to put 90 days because you can extend by another 30 days in the country). So if I went by this, that means I need to extend it to get my next 30 days by the latest on the 23rd of November (would be 24th but that is a Saturday and they are closed). However we arrived in Thailand on the 1st of October and we got a stamp at airport immigration saying 1st oct and also 29th of November (which is 60 days) so if I went by that I would not have to extend until the 29th of November at the latest. Now I am confused about which one I must go by. Would rather go by the later one if we can but I do not want to get fined for overstaying.
*To simplify if thats confusing - I have two visa stamps, one I got before I was in the country and one I got when I arrived in Thailand.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The confusion arises from having two different dates regarding the validity of the tourist visa. The visa issued in the UK indicates a validity period allowing for a 30-day extension, while the entry stamp in Thailand marks the start of the 60 days. It is advised to follow the entry stamp date for counting the 60-day stay, which means you would need to apply for the extension by the 29th of November to avoid overstaying.
