Hi All, I want to travel from the UK to Thailand in a couple of months time and stay for just under 90 days. I would be grateful for any advice regarding the best way to go about it when it comes to visa exempt/visa requirements/agents etc ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
For UK citizens planning to stay in Thailand for under 90 days, it's recommended to apply for a tourist visa through the eVisa system, which grants 60 days in Thailand and can be extended for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. Alternatively, travelers can enter Thailand visa-exempt for 30 days with just a UK passport and proof of onward travel, but must either leave the country or apply for an extension before the 30 days are over. Using an agent is not necessary for this process.
, if you also plan to visit other countries, you can arrive to Thailand visa exempt for 30 days (ie, just bring your UK passport and proof of outward travel from Thailand). But you then either have to get a 30 day extension (also mentioned above) or depart Thailand before the 30th day (even for just a day), and then come back for another 30 day visa exempt.
There's no reason to do anything with an agent, especially if you're coming for under 90 days.
Apply for a tourist visa through the evisa system a few weeks before your planned trip.
This visa will give you 60 days in Thailand, and once you're here you can apply for a 30 day extension at your local immigration office. This will give you up to 90 days in the country.
