Hi all I have recently returned to Thailand from the UK with a single entry o visa. My question is how can I extend my visa without applying for a year extension as not enough funds in my bank at present due to no income thanks to Covid 19... normally I would bounce across the border into Vientiane and get another 90 days.. any help or advice would be appreciated.. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on extending their single entry O visa in Thailand without the option of a year extension due to financial difficulties caused by COVID-19. Responses suggest applying for a 60-day family visit extension, which costs 1,900 Thai baht and can be granted once. There are also discussions about strategies for managing the financial requirements for a long-term visa.

and I think the O/P knows that their only option is to come here and get the 60 day visit family extension. That would give them almost 5 months (90 day Non-O + 60 day family extension) to come up with a way to meet the 400K baht financial requirements to get the year extension.

Good Luck, take care, safe travels

One might ask, why come now and pay the ASQ fee, instead of waiting and saving that money for the 400k

I had no choice but to come to my house in Thailand.... due to covid my work with live in accommodation isn’t opening now until March next year.

You would not bounce anywhere for another 90 days with a single entry.

Apply for 60 days family visit extension.

Granted once.

1,900 Thai baht.

If after that able to meet financial 400,000 prepare to leave or get a correct visa to stay.
