Hi, i have a few questions, i returned to thailand with Non.o dependant visa on nov 2020 ,now i am using 60 days covid visa periodically and my visa will extend on sep,26th as far as i heard, when i go immigration before sep,26 , it will be last extension for me to renew covid visa, so

1. After that, what kind of visa can i use because i have no 400k to deposit to bank to get 1 year non.o dependant

2. Can i change my visa type 90 days retirement visa as i used 2 months extension of non.o once in chiang mai immigration

3. Actually, i have some medical case and i have to go back my home country for 3 months, so when i return to thailand, do i need to stay ASQ quarantine for 14 days as i have 2 jabs Pfizer vaccine

If i stay as much as i can, i prefer to stay in Thailand and postpone to go to my country, but i dont't know alternatives i can use,

I need all of your advices, Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on visa options after their 60-day COVID visa extension expires. They currently hold a Non-O dependent visa but lack the financial resources for a one-year extension. Key advice includes: 1. Apply for the COVID extension before the September 26 deadline. 2. Explore the option of applying for a Family Visit extension if not previously used. 3. If unable to meet financial criteria for a long-term stay, consider transitioning to an Education Visa or returning home to apply for a new Non-O visa. Furthermore, upon returning to Thailand post-medical leave, they will need to check quarantine requirements based on their vaccination status.

Okay, if all you're doing is buying time until you go back to your country, go get the 60 day covid extension. That will buy you TWO months more of stay with out meeting any financial requirements.

As far as what will be what when you come back, no one can say other than watch the news, see if they change the entry requirements.

You said you're here on a 90 day Non-O dependent visa <- meaning you are the father of a thai child, BUT you don't mention if you're married to the mother or not and instead ask about the retirement option <- that requires 800K baht in the bank not 400k.

I'd say buy the time you need until you go back to your country, get a NEW Non-O visa before you come back and have a game plan on how to meet the requirements so you can get a long term extension of stay.

From his stamp, it seems already used his 60days visiting Thai family extension (it says 2.24).

I guess his option is one more so-called Covid extension unless OP has funds in a bank.

Go this week to extend your Covid extension, remember Friday the 24th is a holiday.

In brief reply...

1. You can once again try to apply for the 60 days COVID extension... Do do not later than September 27th. I suggest you do it NOW... as the Thai immigration offices will be very busy prior to the 27th with folks like you applying for the COVID extension.

2. If you have not yet used the 60 days Family Visit extension... You could apply for it after your NEW 60 days COVID extension ends.

3. After that you either must meet the financial requirements for the one year extension of stay based on marriage to Thai... If you do not then you have to either leave Thailand or seek another visa inside Thailand that may be available to you such as the Ed Visa for study of Thai language.

4. If you choose to leave Thailand you could apply for a new Non O visa based on marriage to Thai when in your home country.

To reenter Thailand you will need to meet the then requirements for your CoE from your Thai Embassy including ASQ quarantine or... participate in the Phuket sandbox type of plan....if you are fully vaccinated.

Benjamin Hays i mean that i entered to Thailand 9 months ago with Non.O spouse visa given by Thai embassy in my country and i didn't know that i could use 60 days covid visa without any documents when i went to CM immigr. to extend my visa and i mentioned my story about my wife to the officer and she told me that it will be better for me to use Non.O dependant visa next time with 400k without my wife present during application if i divorce and extended my 60 days visa based on Non.O dependant visa
Benjamin ******
That is not a Non-O visa based on marriage, or an extension of stay based on marriage. I have a hard time making out that Thai, but I think that is a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family. You can only get it once per entry.

Your only option is to get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

@Benjamin *****
and
@Serdar *******
that is a 60 day visit thai family extension

The thai says เยี่ยมบุตรคนไทย and was issued based on clause 2.24 - In the case of visiting a spouse or children who are of Thai nationality.

Actually, i am legal married in Thailand but as long as 3 years, i haven't divorced yet and we live apart ,i have a daughter from thos marriage who is 9 years and lives with her mother ,that's why i use Non.o dependant which was changed by Chiang Mai Immigration from Non.o marriage visa when i attempted to extend my visa in Thailand initially

>was changed by Chiang Mai Immigration from Non.o marriage visa when i attempted to extend my visa in Thailand initially

That doesn't make sense to me based on your post. Chiang Mai WILL ask for the 400K THB before issuing the 90 day marriage visa in country. Can you post a picture of this visa that you acquired at Chiang Mai immigration office?

@James *******
what’s a family visit extension? I’ve never heard of this?
Benjamin ******
@Kai ******
A 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family allows a person who has a Thai spouse, half-Thai child, or other connection to Thailand to stay for an additional 60 days. A person can get this extension ONCE per entry (some immigration offices allow it ONCE per visa though).
Kai *******
@Benjamin *****
does that apply for a Thai girlfriend (not wife).
Benjamin ******
@Kai ******
No it does not.

he didn't mention being married. He wrote he is on a "dependant visa" which means he is supporting a half Thai child as a legal father
