Hi all - quick question. I'm currently on a 1 year non-O extension of stay (based on marriage). Can I get myself an extra 2 months by buying a 60 day "visit family" extension at the end of this? Meaning use that additional 60 days for the 400k to mature in my local bank account before applying for the new 1 year extension? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their Non-O visa, specifically whether they can purchase a 60-day 'visit family' extension at the end of their current one-year extension to allow time for funds to mature in their bank account before applying for a new extension. A commenter advises that while it is possible to buy the extension, there is a limit of one 60-day visit family extension per entry, suggesting that they might consider a COVID extension if available instead.

you certainly could do that BUT remember you can only get ONE 60 day visit family extension per entry :/

I'd say if they still offer 60 day covid extensions when you're current extension is fixing to run out, get it instead and keep that "visit family" extension for when you might need it

cheers. So as long as I'm stamped into the country (whether it's on the 1 year extension, the 60 day visit family or the Covid extension) that time can be used for the 400k to mature in my account?

correct
@Ad**
, before the covid extensions if someone on a year extension was 'short seasoning time' the immigration officers would suggest you get the 60 day visit family extension, let your funds season then come back and apply for the new year extension without a problem. Now that you can get a covid extension OR a visit family one they work the same way.
