Non O Single Entry (marriage) visa extension

Hi, I entered on a Non O (marriage) single entry and the 90 days are coming to an end. I don't have 400k or 40k income at this time so I'm looking for another way to extend. I believe I'm entitled to 2 extensions of 30 days each? If so, may I know what documents are required? Do I need insurance? Also , is that the best route to go or should I go for some sort of COVID extension? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their Non O (marriage) single entry visa, as they do not meet the financial thresholds of 400k THB or 40k THB monthly income. They seek guidance on the possibility of obtaining two 30-day extensions, the required documents, whether insurance is necessary, and if pursuing a COVID-related extension is advisable. Responses outline the processes for both COVID and family visa extensions, noting the documents needed and affirming that insurance is not required for these extensions.

Well that was a pain in the ass. Went to Rayong immigration for the Covid extension and they insisted I go to the "family extension" area. The woman there was not keen saying COVID extension is for those who have a flight ticket and are unable to travel and that since I have family (my wife) I should be getting a family extension. In the end, I was able to get an Under Consideration Stamp (COVID - I think) for 15 days and I'll have to go back again for the additional 45 days if they give them! So, I guess I want to know if I have to pay again for the additional 45v days? Do I have to prepare any documents? She was really unpleasant and wouldn't answer questions .

>So, I guess I want to know if I have to pay again for the additional 45v days?

You will NOT have to pay anything when you return. You will show them the blue receipt with the payment, and they will stamp you in with the remainder of the 60 days.

>Do I have to prepare any documents?

Just bring your passport and the blue payment slip.

I'm in the same boat as you. Did a covid 60 day extension today at chaengwattana in Bangkok. When it was done I told the immigration officer that I am saving up for the 1 year marriage extension, but it's gonna take a few more months, and asked if I could come back in a month and do a new covid extension in a month prematurely, she said that would be fine. πŸ™

If you do the same and go late November you will almost be in February. Then you can do your 60 day visiting family extension, and be in mid /late April. πŸ‘

Didn't have to show any insurance. Queue was about 2.5 hours today, and it is worth to mention that the internet queue counter that shows when its your turn was about 4-5 minutes behind the actual queue numbers, be sure to enter BEFORE its your turn. Not sure if that is normal as it was my first time going there. Good luck!

did you need an embassy letter to do this?

did a covid extension in February at Caengwatthana to meet 2-month seasoning of 400,000 baht for the yearly extension of my Non-O marriage visa. They didn't ask me for letter from embassy. Apparently they want it now😏

Thanks. I'll be going to Rayong. Kinda surprised COVID insurance is not required as it was required to obtain my visa while in Canada

@Cbr ******
right, no insurance for this kind of visa extension inside Thailand. Good luck!

I brought a letter from the (Swedish) embassy stating that they DON'T issue letters. It was a printout.

She looked at it and asked why it wasn't an original, to which I replied that it was mailed to me, and then I got my covid extension.

Thanks. I'm in Rayong actually so I prefer not to go the Canadian Embassy

Contact the Canadian embassy, or search the Canadian State Department Website (or whatever it's called) for some notice saying they don't issue the letters, and print that off.

This was in Chaengwattana, Bangkok. From what I have read on this forum they usually don't ask for a letter there. Different immigration offices have different rules. Probably better to bring a letter if you can get one?

You are entitled to the following extensions on a single entry Non-O Visa Based on Marriage (excluding the one year extension of stay):

* * *

1. A 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. The last day this is being sold is November 26, 2021 (thanks for catching the typo
@Mathias *********
).

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms)

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

* * *

2. A 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family. You can only get this ONCE per entry.

1. Your passport and a copy of:

- Your data ("picture") page

- Your Non-O visa

- Your entry stamp

- Your departure card

2. Your wife PHYSICALLY next to you, and

- Her ID card and a copy of her ID card

- Her housebook, and a copy of the first page

3. Marriage certificate (either the rose border certificate, OR a translated copy from your home country)

4. The application form

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB for the processing fee.

* * *

To stay longest in Thailand, you should request the 60 day extension of stay based on COVID-19 first, and then the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family after.

> Do I need insurance?

No insurance is needed for either extesion
