I have a non immigrant o visa, multiply entry, until november 2020. i am german. my recent 90 days visa stamp ends on 29.5. - can i extend the visa at the immigration inside thailand (because i think it will still not be possible to make border runs). in ko samui or may be chiang mai later. and if yes, for how many days maximum can i get a extention? (i dont want to extend for one year, because of the 800 000 baht on a thai account requirement, 2 months in advance, its just not possible to do it in time anymore). and when i have to do it? less then 30 days before 29.5., right? merci.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on extending their Non-Immigrant O visa, which is set to expire on May 29, 2020. They are inquiring whether they can extend the visa within Thailand, particularly in Koh Samui or Chiang Mai, despite not wanting a long extension due to financial requirements. A comment suggests that they could obtain a letter from their consulate regarding travel restrictions due to COVID-19 and apply for an emergency extension.

if you don't want to go for a year extension, your ONLY option is to get the letter from your consulate stating you're unable to travel due to covid-19 and apply for that emergency extension.

You have a LONG time before your current entry stamp expires (May 29th) so sit tight and see how the situation is when your stamp starts running down. You're WAY early looking for answers right now..
