I will be entering Thailand on a non immagrint o visa based on having a Thai spouse.

Can this be extended for another 90 days or would I have to leave the country and apply for a new visa again ?

Just seeing how long I can stay without having to lodge the 400k in a bank account for the 1 year extension.

I suggest you look at going to the Thai Consulate in Savannakhet Laos and apply for the One year multiple entry Non O Visa as Married to Thai.

You can show the proof of 400,000 Thai baht in any Bank account you have...in or out of Thailand.

No seasoning of the 400,000 Thai baht is required.

Just a Bank account showing a balance of 400,000 Thai baht or more.

In principle you can get a one year extension by showing a year’s worth of ฿40k+ monthly transfers, as well as other requirements like a visit from immigration and whatever your immigration office says.

If your visa is multiple entry you can do a border run and reset the 90 days.

And I suggest you look at the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home country for other Thai Visa options.

You have not said how long you really plan on staying in Thailand.

Beyond that you can do a BORDER BOUNCE to get a NEW 30 day stamp as Visa Exempt Entry. That can be extended for 30 days at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. Be sure to have a TM30 address registration on file with Thai Immigration.

The only extension is a 12 month extension that requires funds in a Thai bank. You can also apply for a 60 day visiting family permission but as this is not an extension it usually starts on the day you apply for it

You can get a 60 day extension for visiting Thai family. Ask at your local Immigration Office for their requirements.

So ,after spending 150 days in Thailand ,is it possible to go to a bordering country for a few days and re apply for a new 90 days non o based on having a thai spouse or would I not be entitled to do so ?

you are playing games... and likely to be questioned by Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival and denied entry. Get the Correct Thai Visa as we have suggested in Savannakhet.

yes James , it's a visa as you stated above I am after. I wasn't too happy about transferring my money into thai so this option of being able to show funds from my home bank is perfect . I will surely go go savannakhet and get this option for 12 months. Thanks

You are 🚫 NOT going to continue getting back to back Non O Visa as Married to Thai.

that's a good question. But it's doubtful that Thai Embassy's or Consulates are going to grant you back to back Non O Visa as Married to Thai. And the Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into the may begin to ask you why you don't get the correct visa and One year extension of stay as Married to Thai.
