HIi,

I applied for the Thailand DTV visa through the official website in Taiwan. The application fee has already been paid, but my visa application was cancelled with the reason:

"Your visa application has been cancelled. Wrong Personal Info: name does not match with passport (middle name)."

However, I’ve double-checked and there doesn’t seem to be any issue with my name.

Does anyone know how I can appeal this? Any help would be appreciated!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's Thailand DTV visa application was cancelled due to a personal information mismatch with their passport. Despite the user's belief that the name is correct, they are seeking advice on how to appeal the decision. Community comments highlight that there is typically no appeal process for such cancellations and emphasize the importance of matching names as specified in the machine-readable section of the passport. Some users suggest reapplying and possibly using an agency to assist.

Haha people don't even read the terms and conditions of the e-visa website. No where do they mention an "appeal" process for rejected or cancelled applications.

Consider your money burn. When they scan your passport, they can look at the details inside.

Most Embassies strongly emphasize that error in the personal data from the passport, will lead to rejection, and can not be changed neither by you or the Embassy.

You need to write it excactly as in the machine readable field, at the bottom of the picturepage in the passport.

Thank you so much. I decide to correct the name and re-applied again by myself.

Do you possibly have any other suggestions? that may give me a better chance not to be rejected 2nd time? Thank you so much.

I had the exact same issue in the exact same embassy. I just reapplied from another embassy using an agency this time

Unfortunately you can’t appeal. What did you write as your middle name? I assume you don’t have one, but have two first names.

- There was a post recently where a Chinese individual (not sure if Chinese national) listed one of their first names under first name and their second first name under middle name and the embassy rejected it, saying as a Chinese person, they have two first names and no middle name. Even in western countries one can have more than 1 first name. For example, I have a relative with first name Marry Ann but she then has a separate middle name. Unlike my passport which only shows given name and surname, the application asks for first name, middle name and family name all separate
