What should I do if my Thai visa application has incorrect information due to the auto-populate feature?

Hello and help! I am a US citizen and will be traveling to Thailand next month (October 22) for about 6 months. I applied for the multiple entry tourist visa on the e-visa system and got an email 2 days ago saying:

* "Please re-apply VISA application: Information on VISA application MUST BE matched with Information on Passport." In your case, your middle name is Lorena but in your application you only put L there.

*Please note this is an auto generated e-mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.

Best wishes,

E-Visa Team*

The fields auto-populate once you upload a passport and I could swear I double-checked everything before I submitted it, but apparently, I missed it.

The email says it is a request for further document and when I go on the e-visa site it says my application is still processing and there is a purple dot that says "request document" but there appears to be no way to add or edit it.

My question is do I need to do a whole new visa application and pay the $200 fee again? It was submitted to the Los Angeles Thai Consulate and I have been trying to find contact information to call or email them to no avail. Has anyone had this happen and what did you do?

Thank you so much in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen traveling to Thailand for six months applied for a multiple entry tourist visa but received an email indicating that there is a discrepancy with their name on the application compared to their passport. The e-visa application system auto-populated fields but failed to include the full middle name. The applicant is unsure if they need to submit a new application and pay the fee again, and has trouble contacting the Los Angeles Thai Consulate for assistance. Suggestions from the community include contacting the consulate via Facebook Messenger, considering a new application without payment, or visiting the consulate in person.

Email the Evisa team at the LA Consulate with the documents they've requested.

“IMPORTANT

Simple mistake(s) could lead to rejection of your application. The visa fees will NOT be refunded in all cases.

The Embassy CAN NOT edit your personal details for you.

With a wrong full name, even if the Embassy had granted you a visa, you may encounter difficulties at the immigration checkpoints when you enter Thailand.”

Take a look at the Visa help provided by the Thailand Embassy in Copenhagen, it is much more informative ( and in english ) than the one from the LA. Consulate.

I read that… which is why I thought I double checked everything. When you upload your passport, it auto generates the fields. I’m looking for solutions, not criticism.

Thank you. The system does really suck. I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss the days of the Thai Pass in 2021

don’t think it’s criticism. Just the facts. You won’t get the money back unfortunately but it’s worth trying. They will simply say it’s your mistake.

The system sucks. But we live and learn

They have a phone number on their Google profile. If you can't get anyone to answer and the message box is full, like Chicago's always is, then select 0 or whatever option they give for thai citizens. That was the only way I got them to answer the phone in Chicago and heard it worked for other consulates as well. Once I did that and was able to get someone to answer they actually helped me. Facebook messenger, email, etc nothing else worked.

The other option is to go there in person, again something I needed to do in Chicago a different time the day before my flight.

... Do you happen to know the Facebook page for

for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa? I reached out to e-visa on Arrival but I think that is only for VOA. Thank you!

there is no Facebook page for evisa. Evisa is processed by a specific embassy or consulate based on the choices you select in the application. You would need to contact that embassy. Search for it on Facebook then message them.

Try contacting them visa Facebook messenger and send all information in a single message. Your name, passport number, application number if there is one, and ask the question all in the same message.

If you can't get ahold of them at all then I would submit another application but don't pay and then send them the information that you submitted a new application and the application number if there is one and they may be able to move the payment.
